Критеријуми периодизације и периоди у српској књижевности двадесетог вијека

Abstract

– Ово је покушај да се предложи једна могућа периодизација српске књижевности XX вијека, израђена на унутрашњим – поетичким – критеријумима и из једне утврђене теоријске позиције – теорије функција.

This is an attempt to suggest a possible periodization of the 20th century Serbian literature, made on internal – poetic – criteria, and from one established theoretical position that could be called the function theory. The Serbian moderna lasts from 1892 to 1917 and features aesthetic functions. The Avangard has its beginnings in 1910, but it dominates from 1919 to 1934. It is a sign of the disputing of poetics and discourses of modern and realism, and its dominant function is meta-language and metapoetic. Social literature runs from 1934 to 1950 and its dominant function is social. The struggle between social and aesthetic function marks a decade of 1950–1960 and brings victory to modernism. It is a time of polemics and the appearance of significant works and authors. Modernism after the Second World War lasts from 1960 to 1980 and is marked by the dominance of aesthetic function and full opening towards world literature. Postmodernism has been going on since the early eighties. It is directed at the reader and on the metaphysics, and its functions are both conative and metatextual.
