О облицима компаратива придева низак

Abstract

У чланку се, са лингвистичког и нормативистичког аспекта, говори о дублетном компаративу придева низак — нижи и нискији — и констатује да нема принципских препрека за прихватање и другога наведеног облика у књижевни језик (уз евентуалну семантичку диференцијацију).

Author is analyzing the linguistic and distribution conditions of appearance of adjectival comparative from niskiji instead of niži, or the parallel use of first one with the latter. The linguistic conditions are connected narrowly with the semantic ones, since the analyzed form niskiji occurs with the meaning of moral quality, not the physical one: I one se osetio odmah bolje i — niskiji (= And at once he felt better, and — теaner). Вy author's opinion, the distribution conditions are based on the lexical „rule“, i.e. on the rule of „individual case“ and on the support of a large number of forms like krepkiji, lјирkiji, krotkiji, ubogiji, which re placed the archaic forms: krepčiji, lјирčiji, kročiji, иbožiji, what was stated already in grammars. As the problem of standardization is concerned in the case of form niskiji as a parallel form with the form niži, author does not see any serious obstacle in accepting it in standard language.
