Неформализована употреба антонима у лексикографским чланцима Речника САНУ

Abstract

У раду се обрађују неформализовани начини употребе антонима у лексикографским чланцима Речника САНУ, тј. без квалификатора супр., предвиђеног Упутствима за израду Речника САНУ за идентификацију антонима. Анализа је показала да се антоними често, поготово код именица и придева, употребљавају у оквиру описног дела дефиниције, иза негације, у оквиру неколико различитих формула, које смо у овом раду уочили. Такође, приметили смо да су описне дефиниције антонимског пара често конструисане према истом моделу, а неретко се као илустрација значења наводе примери који поред кључне речи садрже и њен антоним. Образлажемо неоправданост употребе негираног антонима у описном делу дефиниције, у случају контрарних антонима, где чланови антонимског пара не исцрпљују садржај надређеног појма. Закључујемо да неформализовани начини употребе антонима могу лексикографима бити користан инструмент, али нису адекватна замена формалне идентификације антонима из неколико разлога. Не само што је овакав поступак мање прецизан, већ не обезбеђује ни исцрпну претрагу електронске верзије речника, а такође је мање јасан корисницима речника чији матерњи језик није српски, или када се дефинише мање позната реч.

In this paper we analyze non-formalised ways of using antonyms in lexicographic articles of SASA dictionary, i.e. usage of antonyms without the qualifier supr. (=opp.) which is used for formal identification of antonyms in this dictionary. In previous articles we analyzed formal usage of the qualifier supr. and concluded that an antonym is formally attributed to a relatively small percentage of entries (0,2%). Hence we explored whether antonyms are used in other ways in lexicographic articles. Analysis showed that antonyms are often used, especially for nouns and adjectives, in a descriptive part of a definition, after negation, as a part of different formulas listed in this paper. We also noticed that descriptive parts of definitions are often constructed according to the same model for members of an antonymous pair, and the examples used as an illustration of the meanings often contain not only the target word, but also its antonym. We elaborate the inadequacy of a usage of a negated antonym in a descriptive part of a definition in the case of contrary antonyms, where members of an antonymous pair do not exhaust the content of a superordinate term. We conclude that non-formalised ways of an antonym usage can be a useful lexicographic tool, but cannot be an adequate substitution for a formal antonym identification for several reasons. Not only is non-formalised antonym usage less precise, but it does not provide detailed search in electronic version of a dictionary either. Furthermore non-formalised antonym usage is less clear, especially to users that are non-native speakers of Serbian, or when a less common word is defined.
