Из саветодавног одбора француске владе: Емил Оман о јадранском и македонском питању 1918. године

Abstract

Француска влада је 1917. године образовала саветодавни орган који би јој помогао у питањима доношења коначних одлука везаних за резултате Првог светског рата. У њему су седели познати научници, између осталих и двојица угледних слависта Емил Оман и Ернест Дени. У свом реферату пред владиним одбором за истраживање у марту 1918. године Оман је оповргао тврдње Италије о италијанском карактеру Далмације а у другом реферату у мају 1918. доказао је да Македонија ни историјски ни етнографски не припада Бугарској и да се не сме издвојити из Србије.

Towards the end of the World War I, French government formed the Research board consisting of well-known experts – historians and geographers who would help her reaching fi nal decisions on questions stemming directly from the World War I. In the board there were two prominent Slavists – Ernest Denis and Emile Haumant, the authors of terrifi c studies on the Balkans. In his report submitted to the Board in March 1918, Haumant defended his viewpoint that Dalmatia was predominantly populated by Slavic people, which was opposing Italian pretensions on the eastern coast of the Adriatic sea. He corroborated his claims with historical data and with statistical results of census held in Dalmatia in 1910. In his second report presented in May 1918, Emile Haumant, once again using history and ethnography, disputed Bulgarian claims that Macedonia belongs to Bulgaria. Th us he prevented Bulgarian eff orts (in spite of very strong activities organized by Bulgarians) to separate Macedonia from Serbia and hand it over to Bulgaria.
