О придеву благ „мрсан“ у српском језику

Abstract

Аdjective blag is reconstructed as a PSl. adjective *bolgъ „good, gentle” and it has an extensive lexical family in Serbian. One of the meanings of the adjective blag is „containing fats”, so in our work, we focus on a more detailed description of this semantic shift „good” > „containing fats”. The object of our research is a semantic and formative analysis of words: blag, blažan „id.”, blažiti „to eat fat meals”, blagovati „to eat (dinner); to enjoy”, blago „treasure; property; livestock” and special attention is devoted to the lexicon and expressions related to the Serbian folk calendar.
