Од топонима и зоонима до теонима : база јел-

Abstract

The paper interprets the toponyms Jelica and Jelovak on the one, and Jeleč on the other hand, as the forms of a different motivation, with the common root *jel. The traces of the root's chromatic meaning in the Serbian language have been preserved in the bases of the zoonyms motivated by the fur or feather colour. The same meaning is supposed in the hydronym Jelica as well. The form Jeleč is supposed to have the possessive meaning with the theonym Jelak 1n its basis, from which the form Jelačmight have been derived (synonym: jelenak, božji vo, Lucanus cervus).

У раду се топоними Јелица и Јеловак на једној, и Јелеч на другоЈ страни тумаче као облици различите мотивације, са заједничким кореном *jel. Трагови хроматског значења тог корена у српском језику су сачувани у основама имена животиња мотивисаних бојом длаке или перја. Исто значење претпоставља се и у хидрониму Јелица. За облик Јелеч претпоставља се посесивно значење са теонимом *Јелак у основи, од кога је могао бити изведен и обликјелач (син.јеленак, божји во,Lucanus cervus).
