When considering contemporary artistic practices and education,
we should first of all see whether and to what extent there still exist in
this context objective studies of spatial relationships, studies which aim at
exploring the nature of space.
Such explorations are not encouraged by the education system today.
They occur only as a result of personal motivation. The generalisation of
experiences thus acquired is risky, but personal effort is the only way to
generate them in the first place. Repeated occurrences in the research
practice in question indicate that, nevertheless, these are not coincidences.
Confirmation of some of these experiences may also be found in the
curriculum, through work with visual arts students, through insights into
the problems they may encounter during study in their professional field
– and also after completing studies, concerning the status of art in today’s
world...
