Из методологије трагања за примарним вредностима суфикса : Категоријални приступ: од ул-ица до учитељ–ица

Abstract

У раду се применом категоријалнe (језичко-логичкe) истраживачке методе указује на могућност увида у основне вредности суфикса словенског типа. Полазиште је домен у коме два суфикса функционишу као опозити. У случају суфикса -ица и ‑ина то је ‘простор’, где формације са -ина репрезентују делове утопљене у основу, неодређених димензија и граница (дво- и вишедимензионално: планина, долина, паљевина, пишталина, царевина), а оне са -ица делове издвојене из основе, са одређеним (појмљивим) границама (једнодимензионално – брзица, улица, граница и дводимензионално – ораница, Гњилавица).

The paper seeks to offer an insight into the basic values of suffixes typical of the Slavic languages by applying the categorial (linguistic logical) method. The starting point of the analysis is the domain where two suffixes function as opposites. In the case of the suffix -ica (as well as -ina), this is space, where the formations ending in -ina represent parts integrated into the base; these parts have undetermined dimensions and boundaries (they are either two- or multidimensional: planina ‘mountain’, dolina ‘valley’, krajina ‘region, area’, pištalina ‘quagmire’, carevina ‘empire’), while those with -ica designate those parts of space which are distinguished from their matrix by defined (intelligible) boundaries (one-dimensional – brzica ‘quick river’, ponornica ‘sinking river’, Belica (river), ulica ‘street’, granica ‘boundary’, and two-dimensional – ravnica ‘plain’, oranica ‘plough-land’, Gnjilavica).
