Abstract
У раду се кроз транскрипте аудио записа спонтаног говора најстарије генерације староседелаца Новог Сада, дају занимљиве приче из њихових живота, углавном везане за нека давна, лепша времена и обичаје који су чувани у старим деловима Новог Сада (Салајка, Подбара, Роткварија, Клиса и Слана Бара).
As a contribution to the research of urban dialectology, the author of this paper gives the dialect texts from the parts of Novi Sad inhabited by its oldest settlers (Salajka, Podbara, Rotkvarija, Klisa and Slana Bara). They contain the stories telling of the old customs related to the celebration of the festivities such as Easter, Christmas, Father’s and Mother’s Day, splashing girls with water on Wet Easter Monday, weddings and other. As a result of contemporary hectic lifestyle, which first swept through the cities and later also spread to the country and the dominance of the modern means of communication, the tradition is being increasingly less appreciated and unfortunately, slowly forgotten. Texts written in dialects, such as the ones presented in this paper, have therefore become immensely valuable since they preserve our traditional, cultural and linguistic heritage.
