Abstract
The paper deals with the toponyms containing the element Priče, with various determinants: Golo priče, Malo priče, Donje priče, etc. all of which are restricted to a limited oasis of Serbian dialects in the basin of the Veternica river. The author reaches a conslusion that the toponyms with the appelative noun priče should be etymologically related to Gk. noun трошкоc “dowry, gift, present” which has entered the literary Serbian language in the form prćija. This Greek loanword with the status of a “Balkan Grecism' survives only in this zone of the eastern Balkans. The very occurrence of the noun in this region (originally as an appelative, and later as a toponym), was made possible by the Aromanian ethnic element (this Gk. lexeme is known to the Aromanian language as pritie and pricá), The countinuity of its use, on the other side, was fostered by ethnic Albanians (in their language the respective Gk. loan-word is prike).
Микротопоними типа Приче налазе се само у области Пољанице. Етимолошки су везани за грчку реч проикi која код нас у књижевном језику има облик прћија. Њиховом настанку и опстанку у овој оази помогли су цинцарски и арбанашки етнос, у чијим се говорима употребљава ова грчка лексема као prică и рrike.
