Институт техничких наука САНУ, основан 1947. године, подстиче и унапређује основна и примењена истраживања у области техничко-технолошких и природних наука која се баве развојем мулифункционалних наноструктурних материјала, биоматеријала, сензорских система и фотонапонских извора енергије, као и складиштењем енергије добијене из тих извора. Циљ истраживања је развој иновативних технологија које се могу применити у привреди и друштву, као и промовисање високих технологија на националном и међународном плану. Институт темељи своје активности на високим академским и етичким вредностима, на принципима отворене науке и на одговорном доприносу друштву.

Institute of Technical Sciences of SASA encourages and promotes fundamental and applied research in those areas of engineering and natural sciences that focus on the development of multifunctional nanostructured materials, biomaterials, sensor systems and photovoltaic power sources, as well as the storage of power obtained from those sources. The aim of the research conducted at the Institute to develop innovative technologies that can be applied in the industry and society, and to promote high technologies nationally and internationally. The activities of the Institute rest upon high academic and ethical values, the principles of Open Science, and social responsibility.
