This work is going to include the contemporary achievements of the theory of language culture in Serbian and Slavic languages. This theory is here
comprehended as a part of general culture of a society or an individual, it is reflected in the level of understanding the potential of a specific language system
which enables the practical usage of the language’s numerous functions.
This study has been done in Serbian and other Slavic languages (Croatian, Slovenian, Macedonian, Russian, Slovakian, Bohemian, etc.). The aim
is to show to which extent the contemporary theoretical postulates in Slavic
countries are developed, how the contemporary theory of language culture corresponds with other adjacent disciplines, as to maintain the place the
theory of language culture should have in contemporary linguistics. One of
the tasks in the comparison of the theory of Serbian language culture with
the one of other separate Slavic languages. The study, among other thmgs,
comprises the pro...blems of the language culture in schools. One of the most
important tasks of the theory of language culture is the study of its own scientific, methodological and terminological (in)dependence and uniqueness. In
connection with this, there is a need to introduce a new term — the linguistics
of language culture.
