Павле Стефановић и трибина Музика данас / Музичка модерна Трећег програма Радио Београда

Abstract

У овом раду анализирам деловање Павла Стефановића у оквиру циклуса концерата савремене музике емитованих у директном преносу на таласима Трећег програма Радио Београда. Овај циклус најпре је носио назив Музика данас (током 1967. године), да би се од 8. фебруара 1968. усталио наслов Музичка модерна. Захваљујући њему, музика значајних протагониста послератне авангарде „живела” је на београд- ским концертним подијумима и, путем радио таласа, доспевала у домове слушалаца пријемчивих за овакву естетику и заинтересованих за откривање, у то време, нових звучних светова. Уредница циклуса Мира Далеоре од самог почетка имала је свест о његовој просветитељско-едукативној „мисији”, те су током прве две године – закључ- но са концертом одржаним 24. априла 1969. године – после сваког концерта вођене дискусије о изведеним делима. Модератор ових трибина био је Павле Стефановић. На основу сачуваних транскрипата дискусија вођених после концерта, реконструисаћу Стефановићеве естетичке ставове из шездесетих година 20. века и показати на који начин је он промишљао односе модерности и савремености, успостављао естетичке категорије и вредносне судове.

In this article I analyse Pavle Stefanović’s activities related to the cycle of concerts of contemporary music broadcast live on Radio Belgrade 3. Th is cycle was initially called Music Today (in 1967), to be replaced by the title Musical Modernism starting from 8 February 1968. Thanks to this concert series, the music by John Cage, Iannis Xenakis, Luciano Berio, Karlheinz Stockhausen and other important protagonists of the postwar musical avantgarde was not only heard on Belgrade concert stages, but it also entered the homes of radio listeners who were receptive to such an aesthetics and interested in discovering new sound worlds. Mira Daleore, Music Editor-in-Chief at Radio Belgrade 3 was well aware of the educational and “enlightening” role of this concert series, which is confirmed by the fact that during the first two years –– from 20 February 1967 to 24 April 1969 – all concerts were followed by public discussions about the performed pieces, but also on the problems of contemporary music in general. Th e moderator of these fora was Pavle Stefanović, while his discussants in the studio were composers and music critics Petar Selem, Vladan Radovanović, Dragutin Gostuški, Dragomir Papadopolos, Berislav Popović, Enriko Josif and others. Pavle Stefanović defined the concept of the entire series and the stylistic profile of the majority of works performed at these concerts by specifying that the notion of modern (or modernist) music is narrower than the notion of contemporary music, because the former mainly encompassed “innovations that had begun with dodecaphony and continued with serialism, musique concrète, electro-acoustic music etc.” Using the transcripts of the discussions that were broadcast live aft er the concerts, I reconstruct Stefanović’s aesthetic views and demonstrate how he understood the relationship between modernity and contemporaneity and how he established his aesthetic categories and assessment criteria.
