Владан Ђорђевић иницијатор и оснивач „Српског друштва за приватну помоћ ратним рањеницима и болесницима“ (Српског друштва Црвеног крста)

Abstract

Током службе у пруском војном санитету за време Француско-немачког рата 1870/71. године, др Владан Ђорђевић се уверио у огромну и незаменљиву улогу „приватне помоћи“ у збрињавању ратних рањеника и болесника, па је одлучио да покуша такво друштво основати у Србији. После три неуспела покушаја, он је 2. и 8. јануара 1876. године одржао два „јавна предавања“, која је исте године објавио у књизи Црвен крст на белој застави, у којима се снажно заложио за оснивање Српског друштва за приватну помоћ рањеницима и болесницима. Захваљујући изврсној аргументацији, његов предлог је прихваћен. Направио је и детаљан пројекат његове организације, дефинисао методе рада и финансирања и написао нацрт друштвеног Устава који је усвојен са минималним корекцијама. Друштво, основано 25. јануара 1876. било је убрзо прихваћено у Међународну организацију Црвеног крста а 24. марта 1876. године, Србија је прихватила Женевску конвенцију о заштити ратних рањеника и санитетског особља.

Having worked in the German war medical corps during the French-German war in 1870/71, Dr Vladan Đorđević became aware of the enormous and irreplaceable importance of the “private assistance” in caring for war wounded and sick soldiers, and therefore he decided to try to found such a society in Serbia. After three unsuccessful attempts, he delivered two “public lectures” on 2 and 8 January 1876, which he later published in the book Crven krst na beloj zastavi in which he strongly advocated the foundation of the “Serbian Society for Private Assistance to the Wounded and Sick Soldiers”. In addition to providing an outstanding argumentation in favor of its foundation, he made a detailed project of its organization and structure, defined methods of its function and methods of funding, he drafted its Statute, which was accepted with small corrections, and therefore the Society was founded on 25 January in 1876 and was soon recognized by the International Red Cross in Geneva. On 24March 1876 Serbia signed the Geneva Convention for the protection of war wounded and sick soldiers and medical personnel. The Serbian Society of the Red Cross substantially contributed to taking care of wounded and sick soldiers during the wars Serbia led in the following decades.
