Прикупљање писаније према Катастиху манастира Хиландара (бр. 521): прилог историји Српске цркве и народа крајем XVII и почетком XVIII века

Abstract

У Катастиху манастира Хиландара (бр. 521) хиландарски монаси су уписивали имена приложника и прилоге добијене у писанији, у раздобљу од 1694. до 1704. године. На својим путовањима они су обишли бројна места и манастире у Старој Херцеговини, Боки которској, Лици и Крбави. Као историјски извор, Катастих садржи драгоцена сведочанства о манастирским братствима, женском монаштву, истакнутим сеоским првацима и племенским старешинама на поменутим деловима српског етничког простора. Подаци забележени у време писаније истовремено пружају могућност сагледавања стања српског народа и православне цркве у време Бечког рата (1683–1699) и током првих поратних година.

During Ottoman rule in Serbian lands, the term “pisaniya” was used to describe particular customary activities of Orthodox Christian monks who were travelling from region to region, visiting pious Christians, collecting donations for their monasteries and recording the results of their visitations in special books. An example of such books is the manuscript Katastich № 521, in which the monks of the Serbian monastery of Hilandar at Mount Athos recorded the names of contributors and types of contributions collected trough pisaniya between 1694 and 1704 in the regions of Herzegovina, Lika and Krbava. The creation of this manuscript coincided with the major military conflict, the Great Turkish War (1683–1699) and the immediate post-war period. The culmination of military operations in central Serbian lands (1688–1690) was marked by the destruction and devastation of enormous proportions, with far reaching consequences. Therefore, the monks of Hilandar had to restrict their visitations mainly to the semi-liberated regions of Herzegovina, the Bay of Kotor (under the Venetian control), Lika and Krbava (under the Habsburg control). During their travels, they visited many places and monasteries. Hence, Katastih № 521 contains a great body of data important for historical geography, demography and church history, including data on monastic fraternities, female monasticism, and local Serbian leaders. Data recorded in the Katastich offer an important insight into the status of the Serbs and Eastern Orthodox Church at the time of the Great Turkish War (1683–1699).
