Abstract
Sustainable use of pesticides includes precise application, with reduced losses that cause damage to the operator, the environment, animals and people. In the center of sustainable use of pesticide is pesticide application equipment since they are in more than 50% reason for bad application. Bad application of pesticides results in reduced efficiency, environmental pollution, contamination of animals and humans. The correct choice of pesticide is 50% of treatment success. The remaining 50% depends on the pesticide application equipment. A significant step forward in Serbian agriculture will be introduction into practice biger number of new machines. Modern machines are the best and fastest way to the sustainable application of pesticides but not the only and not an unconditional way. User education together with practical training are the first condition of sustainable use of pesticides. The results of sprayer inspection in Serbia, last ten years, have shown that older mac...hines usually can with eligible investments and maintaining lead technical and technological state which is in line with European normatives and standards. A particular problem is the final elements of sprayers, nozzles. Nozzles determine the droplet size, shape and angle of spray, liquid quantity and quality of coverage of the treated area and they need special attention. Selection of nozzles should be carried out by: the development stage of crops, weeds or harmful organism, dosage and the weather conditions.
