AB  - Иако су теме мигрирања (емиграције, имиграције, избеглиштва, дијаспоре) окупирале истраживаче из различитих друштвених и хуманистичких дисциплина и много пре друге деценије 21. века, скорашња друштвено-политичка криза донела је у први план како постојећа и нова истраживања тих тема, тако и потребу практичног рада с мигрантима које су своје ново (привремено или стално) пребивалиште налазили у различитим европским земљама. Иницијатива о покретању овог разговора дошла је након искустава сарадника на радном пакету „Should I Write or Should I Act“ којим руководи др Марија Думнић Вилотијевић (у оквиру пројекта „Applied Musicology and Ethnomusicology in Serbia: Making a Difference in Contemporary Society” руководитељке др Иване Медић), а која је са тимом сарадника спровела низ радионица, разговора и концерата са становницима Центра за азил у Крњачи. Практична и теоријска знања стечена током рада на овом пројекту биће представљена заједно са знањима и  резултатима колега и колегиница који су из перспективе науке, уметности и активизма били у дијалогу са људима који су искусили континуирана измештања.

AB  - The paper argues that vaccines could be viewed as artifacts which
communicate various social messages and are used as instruments for fulfilling
different sociopolitical goals besides meeting public health needs. It further

спортовима и играма, омогући њихова адекватна презентација и представе прелиминарни резултати спроведених истраживања, како би се ово наслеђе из прошлости сачувало од заборава. Аутори дају осврт на појам и место старих народних спортова и игара у светским оквирима, као и на њихов значај за простор бивше СФР Југославије и конкретно Србије. Резултати спроведеног истраживања на терену, које је обухватило анкетно истраживање и организацију фокус групе, такође су презентовани. Посебан део текста посвећен је опису и представљању појединих спортова и игара који су некада били широко заступљени у нашој и земљама региона, док су данас у потпуности ишчезли или се практикују у врло ограниченом обиму.

AB  - The period under consideration in this paper spans the years from the last decade of the 18th
century to the beginning of the First World War. The focus is put only on the persons born in the
Principality/Kingdom of Serbia or on those whose careers were connected with it. The paper aims to present the development of the research of history in Serbia and to show how it was closely intertwined with and influenced by broader political, social, and cultural trends. Firstly, a short overview of the establishment of scientific and educational institutions relevant for historical studies is presented. The second and the main part of the paper is dedicated to the analysis of the work of the most prominent Serbian historians, both amateur and professional ones. Many of them were political figures as well and had important role in the society. Special attention is given to the struggle over the historiographical methodology which ended in victory of the critical approach over the so-called romanticist one. This development marked not only the study of history in the researched period but had long lasting effects. Lastly, the most important endeavors in collecting and publishing historical sources is described.

AB  - In 2016, the Museum of Krajina in Negotin undertook an extensive field survey of the area under its responsibility to establish the actual state of preservation of the archaeological heritage, eligible for the preliminary list of sites on the Danube limes in Serbia to be nominated for the UNESCO World Heritage List. Till 2023, the Serbian Government, by the Ministry of Culture, financed several archaeological campaigns as well as reconstruction work that have been undertaken at the sites of Aquae (Prahovo), Clevora (Mora Vagei-Mihajlovac), and Laccoburgus (Ćetaće – Radujevac) to shed a new light on this critical and exciting part of Danubian limes. This region was largely and luckily preserved of flooding caused by the construction of the Iron Gate’s electric power system in the last decades of the 20th century. This important fact was one of the primary triggers for contemporary field research. Our contribution tends to expose and discuss the new scientific results that we have obtained so far, as well as to point out the importance of the remains of the Roman cultural heritage of the Negotin area that would significantly add to the growth and development of this region situated on the three-border between Serbia, Bulgaria, and Romania.

AB  - Више од десет година заредом, археолози Балканолошког института Српске академије наука и уметности, у сарадњи са институтом Озониус (Institut Ausonius) из Бордоа, обављали су археолошка истраживања римског и византијског насеља које се налази на подручју села 
Нишевац код Сврљига, у долини Сврљишког Тимока. Била је то прва станица на римском итинерарском путу између Наиса (Ниш) и Трајанове колоније Рацијарије на Дунаву (Арчар у 
северозападној Бугарској). Поред значајних архитектонских остатака и разних археолошких налаза, са овог простора познати су и поједини натписи, на латинском и грчком језику. 
Ова билингвалност текстова указује на саму локацију Тимакум Мајуса, који се налазио на значајној комуникацијској линији, али и на језичкој и административној баријери. Иако 
се хронолошки разликују, епиграфски налази о којима извештавам постављају шира научна питања у вези са значајем овог древног насеља и његовог становништва.

AB  - We will analyze the concept of fire from a linguistic-stylistic and literary-poetic perspective. For the application of both study plans, the conceptual analysis was used as a tool of choice, where we treated the concept of fire as a conceptual metaphor and metonymy. In terms of grammar, we have noticed a number of lexemes that are synonymous or derivative with the lexeme of fire, and in this way, we have tried to shed light on the idiolectic nature of Rastko's poetic language and style. 
We have divided the observed metaphors in relation to the target domain into those from the domain of physical reality, among which the most present are those from the Vitalist circle, and to the clarification of abstract metaphors, among which the most present are those from the circle of emotions and physiological state, the vitalist domain, which includes the sexual-erotic domain, from the circle of visual and from the cycle of historical events. We paid special attention to reading the scene of the flood and fire in the Watermill.

AB  - Super-hard (Hf,Mo,Ti,V,W)B2 was synthesized by boro-carbothermal reduction and densified by spark plasma sintering. This composition was produced for the first time as a single-phase ceramic in the present research. The optimized ceramic had a single hexagonal AlB2-type crystalline phase with a grain size of 3.8 µm and homogeneous distribution of the constituent metals. The Vickers hardness exhibited the indentation size effect, increasing from 27 GPa at a load of 9.8 N to as high as 66 GPa at a load of 0.49 N. This is the highest hardness reported to date for high entropy boride ceramics.

AB  - Ceramic/polymer composites can be chemically stable, mechanically strong, and flexible, which make them candidates for electric devices, such as pressure or temperature sensors, energy storage or harvesting devices, actuators, and so forth. Depending on the application, various electrical properties are of importance. Polymers usually have low dielectric permittivity, but increased dielectric permittivity can be achieved by the addition of the ceramic fillers with high dielectric constant. With the aim to enhance dielectric properties of the composite without loss of flexibility, 5 wt% of BaTiO3-Fe2O3 powder was added into a polyvinylidene fluoride matrix. The powder was prepared by different synthesis conditions to produce core/shell structures. The effect of the phase composition and morphology of the BaTiO3-Fe2O3 core/shell filler on the structure and lattice dynamics of the polymer composites was investigated. Based on the results of the thermal analysis, various parameters of ceramic/polymer composites were determined. Differences in the phase composition and morphology of the filler have an influence on the formation of various polyvinylidene fluoride allomorphs and the degree of crystallinity. Furthermore, the dielectric performances of pure polyvinylidene fluoride and the polymer/ceramic composites were measured.

AB  - Goal: Clinical interpretation of an electrocardiogram (ECG) can be detrimentally affected by noise. Removal of the electromyographic (EMG) noise is particularly challenging due to its spectral overlap with the QRS complex. The existing EMG-denoising algorithms often distort signal morphology, thus obscuring diagnostically relevant information. Methods: Here, a new iterative regeneration method (IRM) for efficient EMG-noise suppression is proposed. The main hypothesis is that the temporary removal of the dominant ECG components enables extraction of the noise with the minimum alteration to the signal. The method is validated on SimEMG database of simultaneously recorded reference and noisy signals, MIT-BIH arrhythmia database and synthesized ECG signals, both with the noise from MIT Noise Stress Test Database. Results: IRM denoising and morphology-preserving performance is superior to the wavelet- and FIR-based benchmark methods. Conclusions : IRM is reliable, computationally non-intensive, fast and applicable to any number of ECG channels recorded by mobile or standard ECG devices.

AB  - While the effects of chronic exposure to microplastic particles (MPs) are extensively studied, the outcomes of a single treatment have received relatively less attention. To investigate MPs’ potential acute toxicity, including their impact on general health status (victual consumption, sensorimotor deficits, and clinical toxicity signs) and serum biochemical parameters (markers of organ/tissue function and oxidative stress indicators), we administered thoroughly characterized MPs (1.4, 35, or 125 mg/kg), generated from polyethylene terephthalate (PET) bottles, to adult male Wistar rats via oral gavage. The MPs’ short-term effects were assessed with well-established tests and methods. The results point to the absence of sensorimotor deficits and clinical toxicity signs, while levels of markers of liver, heart, and kidney function were altered in all MP groups. Decreased victual consumption and increased levels of oxidative stress indicators were evident following treatment with the two higher MP doses. Presented data indicate that examined MPs are able to initiate the development of local changes in tissues and organs within a short time frame, potentially leading to their damage and dysfunction. This study may increase the awareness of the detrimental effects of plastic contamination, as even a single exposure to MPs may provoke adverse health outcomes.

abstract = "While the effects of chronic exposure to microplastic particles (MPs) are extensively studied, the outcomes of a single treatment have received relatively less attention. To investigate MPs’ potential acute toxicity, including their impact on general health status (victual consumption, sensorimotor deficits, and clinical toxicity signs) and serum biochemical parameters (markers of organ/tissue function and oxidative stress indicators), we administered thoroughly characterized MPs (1.4, 35, or 125 mg/kg), generated from polyethylene terephthalate (PET) bottles, to adult male Wistar rats via oral gavage. The MPs’ short-term effects were assessed with well-established tests and methods. The results point to the absence of sensorimotor deficits and clinical toxicity signs, while levels of markers of liver, heart, and kidney function were altered in all MP groups. Decreased victual consumption and increased levels of oxidative stress indicators were evident following treatment with the two higher MP doses. Presented data indicate that examined MPs are able to initiate the development of local changes in tissues and organs within a short time frame, potentially leading to their damage and dysfunction. This study may increase the awareness of the detrimental effects of plastic contamination, as even a single exposure to MPs may provoke adverse health outcomes.",

AB  - Hydroxyapatite (HAp) has been the main protagonist in the quest for an ideal biomaterial for regenerative medicine over the last half a century. To control its properties, this material has commonly been doped with chemical elements other than its natural stoichiometric constituents: Ca, O, P, and H. Here, we report on the first analysis of the biological response to germanium-doped hydroxyapatite (Ge-HAp). Cytotoxicity, osteogenic differentiation induction, and colony formation potential were measured on dental pulp stem cells, while the antimicrobial effect was assessed against Gram-negative Escherichia coli, Gram-positive methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA), and Candida albicans. All analyses were run in comparison to Ge-free HAp. Cell viability was inversely dependent on the nanoparticle concentration and incubation time. Adding Ge to HAp reduced cell viability relative to HAp after 24–72 h incubation periods, but the effect was reversed after longer incubations, when the viability of cells treated with low doses of Ge-HAp exceeded that of HAp-treated cells and became comparable with control culture. Both HAp and Ge-HAp induced mineral formation in the cell culture, but the effect was more pronounced for Ge-HAp. Likewise, relative to both control cells and cells exposed to HAp, Ge-HAp upregulated the expression of all three osteogenic markers analyzed, namely, alkaline phosphatase, RUNX2, and osteocalcin, exerting the key influence on osteogenesis in its early, differentiation stage. The colony formation capacity of stem cells, however, was impaired by HAp and even more so by Ge-HAp. The antimicrobial effect was dependent on the microorganisms tested. Thus, whereas the antimicrobial activity was absent against E. coli, it was evident against MRSA and C. albicans. While the antibacterial activity against MRSA was weakened by the addition of Ge to HAp, the antimycotic activity against C. albicans was intensified with the addition of Ge. These findings demonstrate a significant potential of Ge-doped HAp nanoparticles in regenerative medicine due to their pronounced biocompatibility, osteoinductivity, and antimicrobial activity.

AB  - Ceramic/polymer composites can be chemically stable, mechanically strong, and flexible, which make them candidates for electric devices, such as pressure or temperature sensors, energy storage or harvesting devices, actuators, and so forth. Depending on the application, various electrical properties are of importance. Polymers usually have low dielectric permittivity, but increased dielectric permittivity can be achieved by the addition of the ceramic fillers with high dielectric constant. With the aim to enhance dielectric properties of the composite without loss of flexibility, 5 wt% of BaTiO3-Fe2O3 powder was added into a polyvinylidene fluoride matrix. The powder was prepared by different synthesis conditions to produce core/shell structures. The effect of the phase composition and morphology of the BaTiO3-Fe2O3 core/shell filler on the structure and lattice dynamics of the polymer composites was investigated. Based on the results of the thermal analysis, various parameters of ceramic/polymer composites were determined. Differences in the phase composition and morphology of the filler have an influence on the formation of various polyvinylidene fluoride allomorphs and the degree of crystallinity. Furthermore, the dielectric performances of pure polyvinylidene fluoride and the polymer/ceramic composites were measured.

AB  - The paper analyses the structure of the polysemantic noun oganj ( fire) and it provides a detailed overview of the semantic-derivational nest of the lexeme and interdependence between the semantic-derivational potential and the semantic content of the motivating word oganj. The analysis includes over 80 lexemes. The research also reveals what kind of semantic
components are the most frequent ones as inductors of derivation – warmth, glow, intensity, and colour – which helps us establish its derivational meaning as well as shed light on relations within the words in the nest and on the semantic potential of the motivating word. The derivational structure of the lexemes given reveals that those are primarily suffixed items, as well as compound-suffixed derivatives. The derivatives are mainly nouns and adjectives, and verbs are somewhat less common. According to their lexical meaning, derivatives belong to the domain of plants, space, diseases etc.

ватром као обликом материје, централне лексеме у оквиру појединачних

Посебно ће се обратити пажња на лексеме чија су значења продуктивна
у деривацији.
AB  - The subject of our research was the lexical-semantic analysis of nouns and verbs in the semantic field fire, based on the descriptive dictionaries of the Serbian language. More than 400 lexemes related to the concept of fire have been excerpted. The material is classified into lexical-semantic groups, within which the semantically and derivationally dominant lexemes are determined. Ten semantic groups have been singled out, with the most numerous being the ones which denote the very concept of fire as matter, as well as the actions or states caused by fire as matter. This division showed the most important categories of reality which are associated with fire. The analyzed lexemes denote some of the most important concepts related to fire and show the importance of fire as a phenomenon, but also the great importance of the ability to manage it. In addition to nouns that describe the form of matter, there are numerous lexemes which describe the manifestations of fire and activities related to it. The analysis showed that lexemes in the semantic field 'fire' have an extraordinary diversity in the vernacular, with a lexicon of domestic origin, characterized by great creative productivity.

AB  - Until the final decades of the 20th century, the Vlachs of Eastern Serbia practiced a rather unusual funerary custom about which very little was known: exhuming people who died very young 40 days after the funeral, so that the inconsolable family could see them once more. Apart from bringing peace and consolation to the family, it seems that the belief behind this custom was that if the corpse is taken out of the grave once more, so that the sun shines on it, the deceased would have two lives. The rare ethnographic references from the beginning of the previous century indicate a wider spread of the phenomenon in Eastern Serbia, among the Vlachs, but at the end of the 20th century, when the last exhumations were done, only a few villages in the Homolje region celebrated the custom. This paper draws on the few Serbian ethnographic sources from the first half of the last century and on the limited later mentions, and presents the narratives recorded by the authors in 2022 with Vlach interlocutors who had heard about the ritual, conducted it, or took part in it between 1970 and the 1990s. Special attention is paid to the area in which this phenomenon took place, situations in which the exhumation was done, and the beliefs underlying it.

written in the second half of the 20th century in the countries of East and Central Europe.
Although Yugoslavia was not under strict Soviet political influence after 1948, many similarities
remained, including an affirmative assessment of the 'great' Beethovenian symphony as a
'supreme' genre and a 'substitute for the mass' in the atheistic communist world.

AB  - Leo the Deacon, a contemporary of the Rus’-Byzantine war for Bulgaria of 970–971, described the triumph of John I Tzimiskes (969–976) in Bulgaria as unexpected: the laying of the crown of the Bulgarian tsars–for centuries the staunchest enemies of Byzantium in the Balkans–on the altar of Hagia Sophia heralded a new chapter in the Empire’s history. Byzantium’s penetration into the Balkans at least seemingly found a foothold in the military organization and reform reported in the Taktikon Escorial. The old frontier strip in the Balkans was reorganized, leading to an increase in the number of strategides and the creation of tagmatic command centers headed by doukai / katepano in Thessalonike and Adrianople. At the same time, the territories taken from Bulgaria, primarily in its northwestern part, were restructured according to the same principle: strategoi and garrisons were stationed in the captured Bulgarian cities and fortresses. The Danube frontier was established, and a tagmatic center headed by the katepano of Mesopotamia (for the West) was formed in the Danube delta. A surviving seal allows us to assume that a military center of the same rank existed in the western Balkans, in the Ras fortress (katepano of Ras).  Byzantium’s work on the military organization of the newly-conquered territories is also attested by the seals.

AB  - Dual phase high entropy ceramics are attractive due to potential synergetic effects of the constituents on mechanical properties and thermal stability. In this research, dense, dual phase (Hf,Mo,Ti,W,Z) B2-(Hf.Mo.Ti.W,Zr)C powder was synthesized by varying the contents of the transition metals in the final product. The co-synthesis method was used to obtain boride and carbide constituents by boro/ carbothermal reduction of mixtures of oxides and appropriate amounts of carbon black and B4C. Solid solution formation and densification of the reacted powders were done utilizing two step spark plasma sintering or hot pressing processes. Phase compositions of the produced ceramics were identified by x-ray diffraction while chemical compositions were measured using energy dispersive spectroscopy. The final microstructures showed submicron grains due to pining effect of the two phases. Investigation of the mechanical properties showed increasing in Vickers hardness values s up to 48.6 2.2 GPa for applied load of 0.49N for compositions with optimized elemental contents. Room temperature strength was also measured.
