abstract = "One of the most prolific Serbian painters of the eighteenth century
is Stefan Tenecki, who lived in Arad. From 1749 to his death (1798), he
painted iconostasis and icons both in Arad County and in Serbia and today
Hungary. His painting is Baroque inspired, assumed from the Ukrainian
painters. He is considered one of those who has modernized Serbian
religious painting. Among the orders he received, were the ones made in the
Srem Episcopate. Of these, the most important is the mural painting at
Kruşedol Monastery, unique in its own way. Along with this, he also makes
the iconostasis of the church and six festivities at Stari Slankamen (1764)
and the iconostasis of the church in Ruma (1772).",
