AB  - У раду се указује на случајеве употребе изразâ с обзиром (на
то) да и с обзиром на да означе узрочност у стварности, а не закључност. Анализом примера показује се да је оваква употреба нефункционална, а затим се коментаришу постојећа нормативна решења у вези
с поменутим изразима.
AB  - The paper examines the cases in which inferential markers (s) obzirom (na
to) da ’since, given that’ and (s) obzirom na ’considering’ are used to mark causal
relations in reality (instead of mental/epistemic causality, i.e. inference). We
show that such use is non-functional, and that it is motivated by the fact that these
markers belong to the registers usually perceived as prestigious, such as academic
and legal/administrative discourse.
We also suggest that style guides and other prescriptive literature should
focus on the issue of the described non-functional usage, and argue that the existing
prescriptive practice, which deals exclusively with the form of these markers
(prohibiting some of their formal variants and allowing others) should be
abandoned.
