AB  - Dragoljub Jovanović was an active politician for more than three decades, being one of the authentic and most consistent political left-wing leaders. He spent
many years fighting the political right-wing, Serbian and Yugoslav national oriented alike, meeting in person almost every significant leader in political arena. In
his memoire works, Political Memories and Medallions, Jovanović often reflected
on political right-wing and its leaders. Although writing from the ideological and
political rival’s perspective, his reflections are precious, complex and nuanced. Reliability of those has been confirmed in greatest number of cases by comparative
analysis and confrontation with archival records and contemporaries’ memoirs
and diaries. This paper analyses Dragoljub Jovanović’s writings on several important right-wing political leaders, who distinguished themselves in Kingdom
of SCS/Yugoslavia political life and collaboration during the WW2 occupation of
Serbia. Each of personalities has been chosen to present a good case study, valuable for understanding of political processes in Yugoslavia 1918–1945, but also for
studying character and personal motives influence on political events.

AB  - U radu se, prvenstveno na osnovu malo poznate nemačke građe iz fondova Političkog arhiva Ministarstva spoljnih poslova u Berlinu, analizira osnivanje Hrvatske pravoslavne crkve i odnos vlasti Trećeg rajha prema pravoslavnim crkvama na prostoru Jugoslavije. Pomenuta građa otkriva krajnje pragmatičan pristup zvaničnog Berlina složenim međunacionalnim i verskim odnosima na Balkanu, koji su u planovima nacističkih funkcionera uvek razmatrani prvenstveno iz ugla nemačkih ratnih i političkih interesa.
AB  - Questions of initiative, motives and responsibility for founding of the Croatian Orthodox Church (COC) have been discussed in both Serbian and Croatian historiography for several decades now. Serbian authors tend to see the COC as mere phase of the Ustasha genocide on Serbs or as an instrument for denationalization and assimilation of Serbs in the Independent State of Croatia (ISC). Some Croatian author recognize this stance as just, while others strongly disapprove, insisting that founding of the COC was a positive step toward reconciliation and “normalization” of Serbo-Croatian relations, an instrument for dismantling of “great-Serbian hegemony”. Primary historical sources, of both German and Croatian origin, show that the initiative came from the very top of the Ustasha regime, supported by German institutions and with main goals to prevent further growth of the uprising and to pacify Serbian population.
