AB - This paper presents two classes of integer codes that are suitable for use in local area networks. The first class of codes can correct h-bit burst errors within one b-bit byte and detect l-bit burst errors within one b-bit byte (1 ≤ h < l < b), while the second class of codes, in addition to correcting/detecting the mentioned types of errors, can also detect d-bit burst errors within two b-bit bytes (1 ≤ d < b). Both classes of codes are defined over integer rings and are generated by computer search. To evaluate the performance of both classes of codes, we analyze their probabilities of incorrect decoding for binary symmetric and bursty channel.

AB - One of the most important characteristics of all error control codes (ECCs) is the complexity of the encoding/decoding algorithms. Today, there are many ECCs that can correct multiple bit errors, but at the price of high encoding/decoding complexity. Among the rare exceptions are integer ECCs (IECCs), whose serial encoding/decoding algorithms run in O(n) time, where n is the codeword length. In this article, we show that IECCs can be encoded/decoded even faster, that is, that their parallel encoding/decoding algorithms have O(log2n) time complexity.

AB - The user datagram protocol is the most widely used protocol for streaming multimedia data over the Internet. Like other protocols at the network and transport layers, it uses the Internet Checksum (IC) to detect channel errors. The consequence of this is that each corrupted packet is dropped, which can degrade the quality of service perceived by a user. In this paper, the authors present a solution to this problem based on integer codes capable of correcting single and double adjacent errors. The presented codes are a generalization of the IC, which makes them easy to implement in software.

AB - In this paper, we present a class of integer codes capable of correcting l-bit burst errors within one b-bit byte and h-bit burst errors within two b-bit bytes (1 ≤ h < l < b). The presented codes are constructed with the help of a computer and have the potential to be used in various optical networks. To evaluate the performance of the proposed codes, we analyze the probability of incorrect decoding for different error rates. In addition, the paper shows that the presented codes are suitable for software implementation and that can be easily transformed into codes capable of correcting double burst errors.

AB - The work that will be presented in the rest of the document deals with the application of artificial intelligence AI, neural networks, machine learning on machine maintenance, which is a key resource for production in industry. It is a specific machine that must not have an interruption longer than 30 minutes during one shift. Due to the specific nature of the job of inserting fresh air into the blast furnace, the machine must work continuously during the entire furnace operation campaign. This campaign can last up to 12 months. By looking at the situation before the introduction of AI into the system, it was established that the stoppage is mainly caused by damage to the rolling bearings, which are the basis for starting the fan turbines. Further research led to the startling conclusion that bearings ran shorter when they were more lubricated than when they were not lubricated at all. Based on these observations, it was decided that it is necessary to create a program that will collect data on the sensors and based on this data, create an AI that will decide when and how much it is necessary to lubricate the bearings. The advantages of the system are related to the application of algorithms that significantly improve the efficiency of the software in the maintenance application, which significantly reduces the downtime of the machine, and increases its timeliness, availability and efficiency. The method of learning with incentives was applied. The program receives data from the sensors (pressure, temperature, vibrations and ultra sound), then performs an action on the machine via the actuator. The machine returns feedback via sensors to the program, which corrects the settings depending on the results (good or bad). The goal is for the program to learn during operation to have as high a percentage of good results as possible. Due to the complexity of the machine, there are limited limit values in the program, so that the program cannot cause damage to the machine during learning. The research results are presented using statistical methods in the paper.
Specifically, the paper deals with the application of the Convolutional neural network CNN. The data measured on the sensors are sent to the database located on the server. The program groups this data and selects them based on the results - good and bad. The data is then used to train the network and create an optimal algorithm that, with its timely actions, should extend the service life of the rolling bearings on the machine, which is a key resource for the complete production of the factory. Based on the learning, the AI can generate reports based on which the procurement and replacement plan of critical components can be planned. By using the mentioned solution, the service life of the rolling bearings was increased by 20%, while the emergency outages of the plant were reduced to 0. The advantage of the used solution is reflected in high timeliness, availability, reliability, since there were no emergency outages since the implementation of the mentioned solution.

AB - This paper presents two types of integer codes capable of correcting burst asymmetric errors within a byte. The presented codes are constructed with the help of a computer and are very efficient in terms of redundancy. The results of a computer search have shown that, for practical data lengths up to 4096 bits, the presented codes use up to two check-bits less than the best burst asymmetric error correcting codes. Besides this, it is shown that the presented codes are suitable for implementation on modern processors.

AB - An instance of the framework for cryptographic security enhancement of symmetric-key encryption employing a dedicated error correction encoding is addressed. The main components of the proposal are: (i) a dedicated error correction coding and (ii) the use of a dedicated simulator of the noisy channel. The proposed error correction coding is designed for the binary erasure channel where at most one bit is erased in each codeword byte. The proposed encryption has been evaluated in the traditional scenario where we consider the advantage of an attacker to correctly decide to which of two known messages the given ciphertext corresponds. The evaluation shows that the proposed encryption provides a reduction of the considered attacker’s advantage in comparison with the initial encryption setting. The implementation complexity of the proposed encryption is considered, and it implies a suitable trade-off between increased security and increased implementation complexity.

AB - This paper presents a class of integer codes suitable for use in optical networks with low error rates. The presented codes are constructed with the help of a computer and have two important features: first, they can correct single errors affecting one or two b-bit bytes, and second, they use processor-friendly operations to encode/decode data bits. The effectiveness of the presented codes is demonstrated on theoretical models of four-core and six-core processors. The obtained results show that the decoder throughput reaches 14.70Gbps, which is above the operating speed of 10G networks. Finally, the paper compares the proposed codes with BCH codes of similar properties. The comparison is made in terms of redundancy and the number of decoding operations.

AB - The paper elaborates the application of stochastic digital measurement method (SDMM) in embedded systems. It has been proven in the literature that the optimal SDMM resolution is three-bit and that the optimal number system for application in signal processing is also three-bit. These facts motivated the authors to analyze the optimal resolutions of stochastic A/D
conversion, stochastic processing, and stochastic D/A conversion.

U literaturi je dokazano da je optimalna rezolucija SDMM trobitna i da je optimalni brojni sistem za primenu u obradi takođe trobitni. Ove činjenice su motivisale autore da analiziraju optimalne rezolucije stohastičke A/D konverzije, stohastičke obrade i stohastičke D/A konverzije., The paper elaborates the application of stochastic digital measurement method (SDMM) in embedded systems. It has been proven in the literature that the optimal SDMM resolution is three-bit and that the optimal number system for application in signal processing is also three-bit. These facts motivated the authors to analyze the optimal resolutions of stochastic A/D
conversion, stochastic processing, and stochastic D/A conversion.",

AB - This paper presents a new method for stochastic measurement of wind power and energy. Compared to the existing approaches, this method has two advantages: first, it is much simpler and cheaper to implement, and second, it can be easily integrated with cup anemometers. In this way, it is possible to construct a low-cost mobile device capable of measuring wind power and energy. In order to prove the validity of our method, we have conducted several laboratory experiments. The obtained results have shown that, over the time interval of 100 s, wind power and energy can be measured with an accuracy of 0.09%.

AB - This paper presents a class of integer codes capable of correcting l-bit burst asymmetric errors within a b-bit byte (1 ≤ l < b) and double asymmetric errors within a codeword. The presented codes are constructed with the help of a computer and have the potential to be used in unamplified optical networks. In addition, the paper derives the upper bound on code length and shows that the proposed codes are efficient in terms of redundancy.

AB - The paper proposes a method and device for on-line temperature measurement with Pt-100 sensor operating in a nonlinear mode. The sensor measures the temperature in range of 00C to 2000C, whereas the measured data are processed by applying a two-bit stochastic digital measurement method. The proposal is theoretically analyzed and tested experimentally. It is shown that the accuracy of the method depends on the accuracy of the sensor. At a sampling frequency of 1 MHz, the maximum accuracy is reached in 17.5 sec. and is equal to 0.015% of full scale (FS). On the other hand, when the measurement time interval is 0.1 sec. (the shortest measurement interval), the accuracy is equal to 0.1% of FS. Therefore, the proposed device can be used for both calibration and measurement purposes.

AB - This article presents a class of integer codes that are suitable for use in optical computer networks in which the data are transmitted serially. The presented codes are constructed with the help of a computer and have three desirable properties. First, they use integer and lookup table operations, which make them suitable for software implementation. Second, depending on the application requirements, the proposed codes can be used as low-rate error correction (EC) codes or as high-rate error detection (ED) codes. In the EC mode, which is suited for realtime applications, the receiver can correct all single and double errors, as well as all triple-adjacent (TA) errors within one b-bit byte. On the other hand, if the integrity of data is of high importance, the receiver may operate in the ED mode. In that case, it is able to detect all quadruple errors, all double TA errors within one b-bit byte, and all double TA errors within two b-bit bytes. Finally, it is important to note that the presented codes can be interleaved without delay and without using any additional hardware. Owing to this, it is possible to construct simple codes capable of detecting/correcting multiple TA and random errors.

AB - Correcting single and detecting adjacent errors has become important in memory systems using high density DRAM chips. The reason is that, in these systems, the strike of a single energetic particle can upset one or more adjacent bits. In this article, we present a simple solution for this problem based on integer codes capable of correcting single errors and detecting l -bit burst errors confined to a b -bit byte ( 1<l<b ). Unlike the classical approach, the proposed one does not rely on the use of dedicated encoding/decoding hardware. Instead, it uses the processor as both encoder and decoder. The effectiveness of such solution is demonstrated on a theoretical model of an eight-core processor. The obtained results show that it has the potential to be used in future DDR5 systems.
