AB - Na0.25K0.25Bi0.5TiO3 (NKBT) perovskite particles are synthesized by solid-state method and used as a filler for polyvinylidene fluoride-co-hexafluoropropylene (PVDF-HFP) co-polymer. X-ray diffraction analysis of NKBT powders shows that the particles have a rhombohedral perovskite crystal structure (R3c symmetry). Raman spectroscopy reveals that the co-polymer crystallizes predominantly into the mixture of polar β- and γ-crystals, while there is also a contribution of the non-polar α-crystal phase. The introduction of the NKBT into the PVDF-HFP results with an increase in effective dielectric permittivity and this effect depends on the inorganic content in the composite. The most interesting result of the present study is that the introduction of NKBT particles induces the appearance of an additional transition peak in the dielectric spectra of the co-polymer matrix. At the fixed frequency of ~2 kHz, the observed process appears at ~10 °C (about 45° above the glass transition temperature) and its magnitude strongly depends on the amount of the NKBT in the composite. Dielectric spectroscopy measurements of the composites are carried out in the wide range of frequencies (from 0.1 Hz to 1 MHz) and temperatures (from −100 to 100 °C). They reveal that the novel process can be clearly distinguished in the frequency range between 160 Hz and ~50 kHz.

AB - The focus of this study is on the control of layers between grains by applying graph theory. We performed modification of BaTiO3 nanoparticles with Y2O3. The results of capacitance change on submicron level are the part of the measured values on the bulk samples. The original idea is to develop the new approach to use graph theory for networking of electronic parameters between the neighboring grains in order to compare the values measured on the sample, and to present them through the edges in graph between corresponding vertices. Capacitance change with DC bias was measured on bulk samples, and the modified nanoparticles showed stability up to 90 V. After using graph theory with the different number of neighboring grains and on different voltages, it has been shown that capacitance change can be successfully calculated on the layers between grains. Original calculations presented as 1D cases were performed, confirming graph application as a tool with which measured bulk results can be downsized to an appropriate intergranular level, opening the new perspectives in the area of miniaturization and micropackaging.

AB - Nanocrystalline Zn2SnO4/SnO2 powder was obtained by a solid state reaction of ZnO and SnO2 nanopowders mixed in the molar ratio 1:1. The phase composition of the obtained powder was studied by XRD and Raman spectroscopy, morphology and texture were characterized by FESEM, TEM, BET and Hg porosimetry, while XPS and FTIR spectroscopy were used to determine the surface chemistry. The influence of humidity on complex impedance was monitored on bulk samples in the relative humidity (RH) range 30–90% in a climatic chamber in the frequency range 42 Hz- 1 MHz at working temperatures of 25 and 50 °C. Change in RH had a significant influence on impedance reduction, especially noticeable in the lower frequency range, indicating potential application of this nanocomposite as a humidity sensing material. Increase in RH led to an increase in AC conductivity that changed with frequency according to the Jonscher power law. The frequency exponent decreased with increase in RH and sample temperature indicating that the correlated hopping barrier model is the dominant conduction mechanism. Complex impedance was analyzed using an equivalent circuit consisting of a parallel resistance and constant phase element, showing the dominant influence of grain boundaries at both working temperatures (25 and 50 °C). The resistance decreased, while the capacitance and relaxation frequency increased with increase in RH. At high humidity an added Wartburg element enabled modeling of the charge diffusion process

AB - After pioneering attempts for the introduction of graph theory in the field of ceramics and microstructures, where 1D and 2D graphs were used, in this paper we applied 3D graphs for the breakdown voltage calculation in BaTiO3sample with some predefined constraints. We have described the relations between grains in the sample and established a mathematical approach for the calculation of breakdown voltage using experimental results. As a result, we introduced mapping between the property of sample and grain structure, then between the grain structure and mathematical graph, using various crystal structures. The main idea was to apply 3D graph theory for the distribution of electronic parameters between the neighboring grains. With this study, we successfully confirmed the possibilities for applications of graphs as a tool for the determination of properties even at the intergranular level.

AB - Solid-state reaction between BaTiO3 and Fe2O3 was used to produce a multiferroic heterostructure composite. Commercial BaTiO3 and Fe(NO3)3•9H2O were suspended in ethanol for 30 minutes in an ultrasound bath. The prepared mixture was thermally processed at 300 oC for 6 h. Sintering at 1300 oC for 1 h resulted in a mixture of different phases, BaTiO3, BaFe12O19 and Ba12Ti28Fe15O84, which were confirmed by x-ray powder diffraction. A dense microstructure with a small volume fraction of closed porosity was indicated by the scanning electron microscopy, while a homogeneous distribution of Fe ions over BaTiO3 phase was visible from energy dispersive spectroscopy mapping. Doping of BaTiO3 with Fe2O3 resulted in formation of magnetic hexaferrite phases, as confirmed by dielectric measurements that showed a broadened maximum of the permittivity measured as a function of temperature.

Doping of BaTiO3 with Fe2O3 resulted in formation of magnetic hexaferrite phases, as confirmed by dielectric measurements that showed a broadened maximum of the permittivity measured as a function of temperature.",

AB - Structures and different life functions of microorganisms, like motion, are based on molecular biology processes, which comprise molecular and submolecular particles. It is very important to determine relation between molecular and microorganisms levels. The aim of our research is the analysis of Brownian motion as a general phenomenon and the consequence of structures hierarchy from molecular to microorganisms level. If we approach this idea from the aspect of biomimetic correlations at the level of the alive and nonalive matter system particles, the condensed matter particles could be considered as a part of micro, nano and molecular microorganisms structures. In this research we used the experimental results of bacterial motion influenced by different energy impulses. The important goal of this research paper is to obtain significant data regarding Brownian motion in the frame of fractal nature similarities, as an integrative property of living and nonliving systems particles processes. This opens new frontiers for submicroelectronics relations within the integrated supermicro biophysical systems. This is a potential new trend in nowadays advanced research, where we integrate the knowledges of complex relations between the electrons or other particles and their clusters as joint structures in alive and condensed matter, what could be a possible direction for new microelectronics complex biodevices and integrations.

AB - Various interesting results have been achieved in calculation of electrochemical parameters in nanomaterials, using neural networks. There appear some error, during those calculations, and it varies depending on number of neurons in layers. In this research we deal with errors, calculated for neural networks with n=1,2…10, neurons in first or second layer. We applied mean square approximation method, in order to get explicite formula for predicton of error,
for other cases.

AB - Predicting the ceramic materials properties and designing the desired microstructures characteristics are very important objectives in ceramic samples consolidating process. The goal of our research is to calculate the density within consolidated BaTiO3-ceramic samples for different consolidation parameters, like sintering temperature, using obtained experimental data from the material’s surface, by applying back propagation neural network (BP). This method, as a very powerful tool, provides the possibility to calculate the exact values of desired microelectronic parameter at the level of the grains’ coating layers. The artificial neural networks, which have biomimetic similarities with biological neural networks, propagate the input signal forward, unlike the output signal, designated as error, which is propagated backwards spreading throughout the whole network, from output to input neuron layers. Between these two neuron layers, there are usually one or more hidden layers, where the grains of the sintered material are represented by network neurons. Adjustable coefficients, called weights, are forward propagated, like input signals, but they modify the calculated output error, so the neural network training procedure is necessary for reducing the error. Different consolidated samples density values, measured on the bulk, substituted the errors, which are calculated as contribution of all network elements, thus enabling the density calculation of all constituents of ceramic structure presented by neural network. In our future research we plan to increase the number of neurons and hidden layers in order to improve this method to become even more accurate and precise.

AB - There are a lot of recently published research papers regarding representing nanostructures and biomimetic materials, using simple but powerful mathematical methods. In most of them, fractal theory, graph theory and neural networks are used. Having in mind variety of those methods, but in the same time complementarity and compatibility, they became very useful tool, and we named it “Holly Trinity” of mathematical approach in nanostructures. In this research we give an overview on interesting results in modelling nanostructures and their electrochemical and magnetic parameters, using those very actual and “easy to use” methods: fractal theory, graph theory and neural networks. We also compare them, in order to conclude about areas of their most useful applications.

AB - Polymers offer the possibility of different reinforcement incorporation due to a broad range of chemical structures. Along with this feature, their light weight and processing ease made them a class of materials that have been applied in construction parts, drug delivery agents or electronic devices. Epoxy-based composites have used as insulators in microelectronic devices due to its chemical resistance, good adhesion properties and endurance. As epoxies have low fracture resistance, they are often reinforced with different kinds of fibers. With thorough knowledge of the structure, physical properties can be predicted and included in the processing of future composites, especially that electronic materials minituarization brought micro- and nanoscale level properties at spotlight. Fractal nature analysis is a mathematical method that has proved to be efficient in grain interface properties applied on perovskite ceramic materials. In our study, fiber shape reconstruction and determination of Hausdorff dimension have been achieved with the application of fractal regression model employed in software Fractal Real Finder opening a new path for the prediction of reinforcement shape and size, all with the aim of processing composite materials with desired properties

AB - Neodymium zinc titanate (NZT) is a very attractive perovskite due to its magnetic and dielectric properties. Considering the microstructure influence NZT stability and performance, it is of great importance to establish an approach for the analysis and prediction of grain boundary phenomena. The fractal nature analysis has already proved to be valuable for the reconstruction and prediction of ceramics intergranular electrical properties. However, no researches were performed on the fractal analysis applied on magnetic materials. This method could give an insight in magnetic properties change from the bulk to the grain interface level. In this study, fractal analysis was applied for the Curie-Weiss law correction, introducing fractal correction into magnetic materials for the first time. NZT powders used in this research for fractal analysis were obtained after sintering at different temperatures in the range from 1450°C to 1675°C.Connection between the microstructure fractal nature and the resulting magnetic permeability has been established, enabling the application on different magnetic materials in the future. This creates a foundation for new researches that will lead to further miniaturization of satellite and mobile devices.

AB - The main goal of our research is to find the connection between micro particles and microorganisms motion in the Nature, considered as Brownian’s Motion within the fractal’s nature. For ceramics and generally material science it is important to clarify the particles motion and other phenomena, especially for grains and pores. Our idea is to establish control over the relation order–disorder on particle motion and their collision effects by Brownian motion phenomena in the frame of fractal nature matter. We performed some experiments and got interesting results based on microorganism motion initiated by different outer energetic impulses. This is practically the idea of biomimetic correlation between particles and microorganisms Worlds, what is very original and leads towards biunivocal different phenomena’s understanding. Another idea is to establish some controlling effects for electro ceramic particle motion in chemical-materials sciences consolidation by some phenomena in the nature. These important research directions open new frontiers with very specific reflections for future of microelectronics materials.

AB - Today in the age of advanced ceramic civilization, there are a variety of applications for modern ceramics materials with specific properties. Our up-to date research recognizes that ceramics have a fractal configuration nature on the basis of different phenomena. The key property of fractals is their scale-independence. The practical value is that the fractal objects’ interaction and energy is possible at any reasonable scale of magnitude, including the nanoscale and may be even below. This is a consequence of fractal scale independence. This brings us to the conclusion that properties of fractals are valid on any scale (macro, micro, or nano). We also analyzed these questions with experimental results obtained from a comet, here 67P, and also from ceramic grain and pore morphologies on the microstructure level. Fractality, as a scale-independent morphology, provides significant variety of opportunities, for example for energy storage. From the viewpoint of scaling, the relation between large and small in fractal analysis is very important. An ideal fractal can be magnified endlessly but natural morphologies cannot, what is the new light in materials sciences and space.

AB - This paper is based on fundamental research to develop the interface structure around the grains and to control the layers between two grains, as a prospective media for high-level electronic parameters integrations. We performed the experiments based on nano-BaTiO3 powders with Y additives. All results on dielectric parameters on submicron level are the part of global values the same measured characteristics at the bulk samples. The original idea is to develop the new computing ways to network electronic parameters in thin layers between the grains on the way to get and to compare the values on the samples. Artificial neural networks are computing tools that map input-output data and could be applied on ceramic electronic parameters. These are developed in the manner signals are processed in biological neural networks. The signals are processed by using elements which represent artificial neurons, which have a simple function to process input signal, as well as adjustable parameter which has an influence to change output signal. The total network output presents the sum of a large number neurons outputs. This important research idea is to connect analysis results and neural networks. There is a great interest to connect all of these microcapacitances by neural network with the goal to compare the results in the standard bulk samples measurements frame and microelectronics parameters. The final result of the study was functional relation definition between consolidation parameters, voltage (U) and relative capacitance change, from the level of the bulk sample down to the grains boundaries.

abstract = "This paper is based on fundamental research to develop the interface structure around the grains and to control the layers between two grains, as a prospective media for high-level electronic parameters integrations. The final result of the study was functional relation definition between consolidation parameters, voltage (U) and relative capacitance change, from the level of the bulk sample down to the grains boundaries.",

AB - This research is focused on further developing of application and use of graph theory in order to describe relations between grains and to establish control over layers. We used functionalized BaTiO3 nanoparticles coated with Yttrium-based salt. The capacitance change results on super-microstructure levels are the part of the measured values on the bulk samples. The new idea is graph theory application for determination of electronic parameters distribution at the grain boundary and to compare them with the bulk measured values. We present them with vertices in graph, corresponding with grains, connected with edges. Capacitance change with applied voltage was measured on samples sintered in air and nitrogen, up to 100 V. Using graph theory, it has been shown that capacitance change can be successfully calculated on the layers between grains. Within the idea how to get parameters values at microlevel between the grains and pores, mathematical tool can be developed. Besides previously described 1D case, some original calculations for 2D cases were performed in this study, proving successful graph theory use for the calculation of values at nanolevel, leading to a further minituarization in micropackaging.

AB - The BaTiO3 ceramics applications based on electronic properties have very high gradient scientific and industrial-technological interests. Our scientific research has been based on nano BaTiO3 modified with Yttrium based organometallic salt (MOD-Y). The samples have been consolidated at a sintering temperature of 1350 °C. Within the study, the new frontiers for different electronic properties between the layers of BaTiO3 grains have been introduced. The research target was grain boundary investigations and the influence on dielectric properties. After scanning electron microscopy and dielectric measurements, it has been established that modified BaTiO3 samples with larger grains showed a better compact state that led to a higher dielectric constant value. DC bias stability was also investigated and showed a connection between the grain size and capacitance stability. Analyses of functions that could approximate experimental curves were successfully employed. Practical application of fractal corrections was performed, based on surface (αs) and pore size (αp) corrections, which resulted in obtainment of the relation between the capacitance and Curie temperature. Successful introduction of fractal corrections for capacitance-Curie temperature dependence for a set of experimental data is an important step towards further miniaturization of intergranular capacitors. © 2020 by the authors.

Sometimes we can begin from the end. We are substantial part of such fractals space nature. The mathematics fractal structures world have been inspired from nature and Euclidian geometry imagined shapes, and now it is coming back to nature serving it. All our analysis are based on several experimental results. The substance of the question regarding entropy and fractals could be analyzed on different ceramics and materials in general. We have reported the results based on consolidation BaTiO3- ceramics by the standard sintering technology, performed with BaTiO3 and different additives (MnCO3, CeO2, Bi2O3, Fe2O3, CaZrO3, Nb2O5, Er2O3, Yt2O3, Ho2O3). Thermodynamic principles are very important. Beside the energy and temperature, the entropy as a measure between the order and disorder (chaos) is very important parameter. In this paper, we establish the relation between the entropy and fractal that opens new frontiers with the goal to understand and establish the order-disorder relation.

AB - Zinc ferrite nanocrystalline powder was obtained by solid state synthesis of starting zinc oxide and hematite nanopowders. Field emission scanning electron microscopy (FESEM and transmission electron microscopy (TEM), X‐ray diffraction (XRD), X‐ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS) and Raman spectroscopy confirmed the formation of nanocrystalline zinc‐ferrite powder with a mixed spinel structure with small amounts of remaining zinc oxide and hematite as impurities. Thick film paste was formed and screen printed on test interdigitated PdAg electrodes on alumina substrate. Formation of a porous nanocrystalline structure was confirmed by scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and Hg porosimetry. Humidity sensing properties of zinc ferrite thick films were investigated by monitoring the change in impedance in the relative humidity interval 30‐90% in the frequency range 42 Hz – 1 MHz at room temperature (25 °C) and 50 °C. At 42 Hz at both analyzed temperatures the impedance reduced ~ 46 times in the humidity range 30‐90%. The dominant influence of grain boundaries was confirmed by analysis of complex impedance with an equivalent circuit.

AB - Grain size and morphology of BaTiO3-ceramics are very important characteristics in developing new dielectric devices. Samples with different additives were sintered at different temperatures and times. The microstructure of the samples was observed using scanning electron microscope (SEM). Experimental results indicated well-developed morphology of BaTiO3-ceramics from nano- to micro- scales, with the standard ceramics consolidation procedure. It is observed that the morphology of grains is the function of additives, sintering temperature and sintering time. However, image analysis of grain growth indicated that sintering temperature has a strong impact on the morphology and grain size of the samples in the temperature range 1240 °C to 1380 °C. Kinetic exponents and grain growth fractal dimensions were obtained with the collecting the parameters of same grain exposed to five magnifications by SEM imaging and using appropriate processing software for grain-shape fractal reconstruction. The main results in this paper established the relation between sintering consolidation process and fractal nature influence, as well as complex fractal correction on sintering temperature.

AB - Consolidation parameters have influence and can be used to control structure of BaTiO3 based materials. Microstructure and dielectric properties of Yb2O3 doped BaTiO3-ceramics, sintered from 1320 °C to 1380 °C have been investigated. The correlation between microstructure, capacity and dielectric properties of doped BaTiO3-ceramics, based on fractal geometry and micro-contact surfaces, has been developed. Using the fractal descriptors of the grains contact surface, the microstructure reconstruction constituents, as grains and pores shapes or intergranular contacts, has been successfully done. Obtained results indicated that fractal analysis contact surfaces descriptors of different shapes are very important for the prognosis of BaTiO3-ceramics microstructure and capacity and dielectric properties. The morphology of ceramics grains pointed out the validity of developing new structure analytical methods, based on different grains’ shape geometries. The grains contact structure based on Minkowski hull is presented as a new tool for BaTiO3-ceramics materials structure research. The materials properties prognosis are determined according to the correlations synthesis–structure–property, within Minkowski hull fractal frame. © 2019, © 2019 Taylor & Francis Group, LLC.

AB - The BaTiO3 ceramics applications based on electronic properties have very high gradient scientific and industrial-technological interests. Our scientific research has been based on nano BaTiO3 with MOD-Y salts and also on Y2O3. The samples have been consolidated at sintering interval 1200–1350 °C. We demonstrate the new frontiers for different electronic properties between the layers of BaTiO3 grains. As a research target we had GB composite, Nano size metal oxide dispersions, ACDC safety capacitance, nano scale grain boundary control, capacitance, GB control mobility in DC BS operation voltage. We applied all related characterizations and especially SEM. Fractal nature characterization and corrections include influences grains and pores surface and Brownian motions of particles. We established relation with all of this characteristics and temperature. Throw this experiments and results and fractals characterization, we opened new perspectives for higher electronic properties integrations between the grains and practically established the control within the processing, morphological structures and designing the properties. This is very important, new approach towards further miniaturization-fractal miniaturization and related, advanced technologies.
