AB  - Local marketplaces and street vendors represent an important segment of trade in a community and one of the initiators of the rural and peri-urban development. Agricultural and other products available at marketplaces and street vendors very often originate from a wider urban surrounding or nearby villages, so both are also an important factor of the daily migrations, exchange of goods, services, and money on the relation suburb-downtown and village-town/city. This study
aims to analyze the social segments of the organization and operation of marketplaces, to provide an insight into the contemporary market processes and decision-making, and also to illustrate the future tendencies of the market outcomes of this aspect of the business. Using qualitative data processing, the results of one of the first empirical research on this topic in Serbia and this part of Europe will be analyzed. The results will show the economic, social, and cultural impact that marketplaces have on people’s everyday life and the economy of Serbia, along with defining future development guidelines. Besides, the findings of this research may be used by local authorities, the economy, and communities for future strategic development planning of this market segment. The outcomes may have an impact on future research of other aspects of marketplaces depending on the difference of regions, on one side, and also alternative opportunities for local development in less-advantaged communities, on the other side. Moreover, this contributes to the identification of the differences in the marketplace business management and sheds light on future initiatives for the encouragement of this local/global process.

AB  - In this paper we present an analysis of parameters describing the effective recombination processes in the upper ionospheric D-region in the period of its additional heating by the X-radiation emitted during a solar X-ray flare. We present a procedure for calculation of the effective recombination coefficient and electron loss rate in the period when the X-radiation flux detected by the GOES satellite in the wavelength domain between 0.1 and 0.8 nm increases. The developed procedure is based on observational data obtained in the low ionospheric monitoring by the very low/low frequency radio waves and it is related to the considered area and time period. The obtained expressions are applied to data for the very low frequency signal emitted in Germany and recorded in Serbia during the solar X-ray flare detected by the GOES-14 satellite on May 5, 2010.

AB  - The purpose of this study is to investigate the potential for restructuring industrial areas toward tourism development within local communities, with a special emphasis on the socio-cultural determinants of residents, as well as their attitudes regarding the sustainable development of tourism. The research is also oriented toward the interests of local communities with respect to entrepreneurial activities in the field of tourism within regions relying on traditional industries, in this case, one of the largest open-pit mining surfaces in Europe (near the Serbian town of Lazarevac). The survey was conducted on a sample of 273 respondents. The research results point to the residents’ attitudes regarding the acceptability of tourism development options, as well as their attitudes toward tourism development, with the aim of providing the conditions for a successful transition from a typical heavy industrial setting toward sustainable tourism development.

AB  - This study investigates the relationship between the quality of hospitality services and sustainable equestrian tourism development in Slovenia. The focus will be on the relations between equestrian tourism motivations, hospitality services quality, overall service quality, equestrian tourists’ satisfaction, and behavioral intentions. The target population was equestrian tourists who stayed in one of 30 tourism farms in Slovenia and used both accommodation and food and beverage services. Face-to-face surveys with convenience sampling were used for the data collection. The results show that equestrian tourism motivations are positively associated with both hospitality services quality and the overall service quality in equestrian tourism. Moreover, the overall service quality in equestrian tourism is positively related to equestrian tourists’ satisfaction, while equestrian tourists’ satisfaction is positively related to behavioral intentions. In addition, accommodation service quality and food and beverage service quality both mediate the association between equestrian tourism motivation and overall satisfaction. The study provides both theoretical and practical implications. For one thing, it fills the research gaps present in the literature. In addition, it gives practical guidelines to farmers and tourism practitioners regarding equestrian tourism development as one of the popular areas of sustainable tourism development in rural settings.

geoportal interfaces. The support points for the problem solutions are formulated and
rationale of each of them is given. The emphasis was placed on the following
orientations: to a flexible process of interface development, the need to introduce
adaptability, progressive development, the motivated abandonment of geospatial
content management systems and the use of third-party libraries where necessary,
problem-solving and achieving goals. The lists of basic functional and qualitative
requirements for graphical geoportal interfaces are given. In the last segment, the
authors share their experience in the development of geoportal solutions.

AB  - The research analyzes attitudes and habits of the visitors in the National Park (NP) Taganay on South Urals in Russia. The survey method was applied on a sample of 305 respondents in order to investigate visitors’ travel habits, as well as their perceptions regarding different experiences they were exposed to. The results identified a strong positive perception regarding overall experiences from visiting the NP. Specific permanent patterns of behavior were observed and compatibility between visitors’ habits and the environment was determined. The most significant variables affecting perceptions are the frequency of visits and the age. The study has identified certain concerns regarding environmental issues. Respondents were found sensitive to garbage production in public areas and the presence of noise in protected territory. The results of the study provide inputs for solving the long-standing conflict between nature conservation and mass tourism in Russian protected areas.

The survey method was applied on a sample of 305 respondents in order to investigate visitors’ travel habits, as well as their perceptions regarding different experiences they were exposed to. The results identified a strong positive perception regarding overall experiences from visiting the NP. Specific permanent patterns of behavior were observed and compatibility between visitors’ habits and the environment was determined. The most significant variables affecting perceptions are the frequency of visits and the age. The study has identified certain concerns regarding environmental issues. Respondents were found sensitive to garbage production in public areas and the presence of noise in protected territory. The results of the study provide inputs for solving the long-standing conflict between nature conservation and mass tourism in Russian protected areas.",

AB  - The research deals with the sustainable development of the Serbian and Slovenian
countryside, under the influence of tourism progress. The article identifies the main rural tourism
competitiveness in Serbia and Slovenia, as one of the essential factors of rural development in both
countries, analyzing the main contributions and making a series of proposals to guide the future
research agenda. The aim of the paper is to clarify around one obviously defined objective—to point
out the competitiveness of sustainable rural tourism in typical post-socialist settings. The data for
this study were collected using the Integrated Model of Destination Competitiveness to observe
Serbian and Slovenian competitiveness in tourism. Determinants were assessed using a survey
evaluating four demanding factors and 20 supporting factors, based upon a five-point Likert Scale.
The results indicated that the friendliness of residents towards visitors, easy communication
between them, together with quality of infrastructure and health facilities show the highest level
of statistical correlation. These are the main propositions to start an initiative for the authorities in
local communities to actively participate in sustainable rural development. The findings provide
tourism stakeholders with relevant respondents’ perceptions pertaining to the tourism development
in non-urban areas.

AB  - This study is devoted to the research of spatial-temporal variation of electricity
generation from the kilowatt-peak photovoltaic system made of crystalline silicon
solar cells. The research was conducted in the territory of Serbia using the model
for estimation photovoltaic performances as a function of incident irradiance and
module temperature. Preparation of input data and calculation of the final results
was done within the geographical information system. Some of the required raster data, like solar irradiance and wind speed, were already available, while air
temperature raster was created from discrete set of observed data using the regression-kriging model. Obtained results were presented in the form of raster maps
that enabled further analysis and discussion about new findings. The analysis of
seasonal variations reveals that during spring and summer months photovoltaic
systems are producing up to 70% of total annual electricity yield. In terms of the
spatial distribution, the most promising areas for electricity generation are located
in the south part of Serbia and along main river valleys. In addition, discussion
part addresses the issue of data imperfection caused by the accuracy of the selected model, as well as quality and availability of data series.

AB  - This study aims to explore the use of the social-ecological system (SES) in tourism of a mountain area. Authors examined residents’ perceptions of tourism impacts on four SES aspects: ecosystems, local knowledge, people and technology and property rights institutions. The aim is to find area that will be a “common ground” for community and area that can be a source of conflict and will require additional work to solve the differences. Second objective was to examine residents’ perception towards future local development tourism policies (winter tourism, seasonality and environment and culture) and how those policies can affect natural, socio-economic and cultural aspects of mountain area. Residents’ perceptions of sustainable tourism development potential, perceivedtourismimpacts,analysisofcommunityattachmentandemploymentsectorofstakeholder were involved in this study. The authors applied the Q-methodology, as one SES-allied approach, in a small mountain community of Kopaonik, the Republic of Serbia. The results revealed that residents’ agreement/disagreement is connected with two aspects: ecosystem and property rights andthatecosystemcanbesignificantlyinfluencedbyallthreedevelopmentpolicies. Findingssuggest that development of future natural conservation plans and new cultural attractions can have positive effects on all parts of social-ecological system. Some practical implications of those findings for tourism planning and development are also discussed.

AB  - Single crystal ingot of BiSbTeSe doped with Zr was synthesized using Bridgman method. Energy dispersive spectrometry (EDS) analysis was used to determine chemical composition of studied samples as well as to check and confirm samples homogeneity. X-ray diffraction (XRD) measurements proved that obtained crystal ingot is a single cristal and confirms Bi2Te3-type compound with orientation (00l) of single crystal. Melting point was determined by dilatometrically measured shrinkage during heating. Mobility, concentration, resistivity/conductivity and Hall coefficient of BiSbTeSe doped with Zr samples were determined using a Hall Effect measurement system based on the Van der Pauw method. The Hall Effect was measured at room tem-perature with an applied magnetic field strength of 0.37 T at different current intensities. The measured ingot samples were cut and cleaved from different regions. Calculated results obtained using a Hall Effect measurement system (Ecopia, HMS-3000) were mutually compared for cleaved and cut samples. Changing of transport and electrical parameters with the increase of the current intensity was also monitored.The results confirmed that electrical and transport properties of single crystal depend on crystal growth direction and mobility was also significantly improved in comparison with theoretical value of Bi2Te3 and available literature data.
AB  - El lingote del mono cristal de BiSbTeSe dopado con Zr se sintetizó utilizando el método de Bridgman. La composición química se determinó mediante análisis con espectroscopía de dispersión de energía (EDS). Mediante difracción de rayos X (DRX) se demostró que el lingote de cristal obtenido es un mono cristal y confirmó que se trata de un compuesto del tipo Bi2Te3, con orientación del mono cristal (001). El punto de fusión se determinó por medidas dilatométricas. La movilidad, concentración, resistividad/conductividad, y el coeficiente de Hall del BiSbTeSe dopado con Zr, se determinaron utilizando un sistema de medición de efecto Hall basado en el método de Van der Pauw. El efecto Hall se midió a temperatura ambiente con una intensidad de campo magnético aplicada de 0,37 T a diferentes intensidades de corriente.
Las muestras de lingotes medidos se cortaron y se rompieron de diferentes regiones. Las muestras de lingotes utilizadas en las medidas fueron obtenbidas mediante corte y escisión en distintas zonas. Los resultados obtenidos utilizando un sistema de medición de efecto Hall (Ecopia, HMS-3000) en las distintas muestras, se compararon entre sí. Los resultados confirmaron que las propiedades eléctricas y de transporte del mono cristal dependen de la dirección del crecimiento del cristal. La movilidad se mejoró significativamente en comparación no solo con el valor teórico de Bi2Te3 sino también con los datos existentes en la literatura.

AB  - Negative effects of tourism development in a destination are usually the consequence of the high concentration of tourists, accommodation facilities and the activities that are practiced in a relatively restricted area. One of the most important measures to protect the areas is to calculate the maximum number of tourists that can simultaneously reside in a region, i.e. the determination of the carrying capacity. This paper outlines a method for determining carrying capacity based on zoning of environmental resources and zoning within a region. The paper argues for a return to the idea of identifying maximum appropriate number of users. The main hypothesis of the paper is based on the statement that the development of tourism in Fruška Gora (Mountain) National Park in Northern Serbia must be in accordance with the basic principles of sustainability, including the determination of carrying capacity. The main research goal was to show the opinion of local residents about the uncontrolled development of tourism, and to determine the carrying capacity in four sports and recreational zones of the mountain. The carrying capacity of the area is calculated by Lavery and Stanev formulas.

AB  - The work examines the potential causative link between the flow of charged particles that are coming from the Sun and hurricanes. For establishing eventual link, the method of correlation analysis is applied, but with the phase shift of 0–5 days. There are nine parameters which are observed as an input, and daily values of the hurricane phenomenon are observed as an output in the period May–October 1999–2013. The results that have been obtained are considerably weak, leading to the need of applying the method of nonlinear analysis. The R/S analysis was conducted to determine the degree of randomness for time series of input and output parameters. The calculated Hurst index of variables X4–X9 is persistent (0.71–0.96). That allows us to conclude that the dynamics of these time series is heavily dependent on the same factors or on each other. Unlike the previous index, we have concluded that the behavior of high-energy protons (X1–X3) and the number of hurricane time series are completely stochastic. The problem of finding hidden dependencies in large databases refers to problems of data mining. The Sugeno function of zero order was selected as a method of output fuzzy system. Bearing in mind the available equipment, the models had to be shortened to the phase shift of 0–3 days. The “brute-force attack” method was used to find the most significant factors from all data. Within the experiments, six input factors were calculated which became the basis for building the final ANFIS models. These models can predict 22–26 % of the hurricanes.

AB  - This paper presents the effect of land-use changes on land degradation by utilization of remote sensing methods and the Gavrilović erosion potential method, due to surface mining activities in the period 2001–2011. Studied area includes the zone of influence of the Rudarski basen Kolubara, which covers the exploitation area of the Kolubara coal basin in the Republic of Serbia. The analysis is based on the processing of Landsat 5 satellite images from 2001 and 2011. In the analysis of satellite images, the supervised classification method was used. The results suggest that the observed spatial–temporal area is exposed to erosion as a result of land-use changes. Preliminary conclusion is that the dominant anthropogenic factor, responsible for changes in land use, is pronounced through the mining activity, industrialization, construction as well as agricultural activities. Very small changes in land use that occurred in the period 2001–2010 have led to relatively small amount of change from the aspect of land degradation. Also, due to the planned exploitation of the mine which included into account the sustainability of ecosystems, primarily through appropriate conservation measures, RB Kolubara is not in danger of a possible erosion processes that could undermine the stability of the basin.

the Serbian Water Quality Index (SWQI). This is a measure based on a weighted aggregation
of 10 water quality parameters. In this work, alternative methods drawing on visualisation
approaches used in multi-criterion decision analysis are applied to the problem of evaluating river quality in the Danube. Two methods are considered: one which constructs a
graph using the dominance relation combined with a further multi-criterion ranking
method, average rank, and the other in which the dimensionality of the data is reduced
using PCA for visualisation. Results for data collected in 2010 are analysed and compared
with the corresponding SWQI values for the river in that year, and we find that by
employing these methods it is possible to reveal more information within the data than is
possible by using SWQI alone.

AB  - Starting nanopowders of TiO2 (anatase 99.7%) and α-Fe2O3 (hematite) were mixed in the weight ratios 60:40 and 40:60. Green samples were sintered in the temperature range 750–1250 °C in air. Structural, morphological and electrical studies were carried out using XRD, SEM and EDS analysis, Hall measurements and electrical conductivity measurements. The aim was analyzing the influence of the starting nanopowder structure on the resulting sample composition, density, grain size and electrical resistivity in view of tailoring properties for developing different applications such as anodes for photoelectrochemical cells, photocatalysts and gas sensors. Compared to pure anatase samples, the presence of hematite lowered the temperature of completion of the anatase to rutile phase transformation to 850 °C. Formation of pseudobrookite was also noted at this temperature. Higher sintering temperatures lead to increased sample density, changes in grain size (grain growth and inhomogenous microstructure) and decreased electric resistivity.

The aim was analyzing the influence of the starting nanopowder structure on the resulting sample composition, density, grain size and electrical resistivity in view of tailoring properties for developing different applications such as anodes for photoelectrochemical cells, photocatalysts and gas sensors. Compared to pure anatase samples, the presence of hematite lowered the temperature of completion of the anatase to rutile phase transformation to 850 °C. Formation of pseudobrookite was also noted at this temperature. Higher sintering temperatures lead to increased sample density, changes in grain size (grain growth and inhomogenous microstructure) and decreased electric resistivity.",
