AB  - Вишејезичност у Банату се обликовала под утицајем језичких политика разних држава које су се смењивале на том подручју. У раду се даје кратак преглед стања у Хабсбуршкој царевини, у Аустро-Угарској монархији и Краљевини Југославији. Анализа је заснована на савременим теренским истраживањима банатских Немаца, који путем наратива реферишу на хабитуалне праксе вишејезичности између два светска рата.
AB  - Multilingualism in the Banat has been shaped by language policies of the
various multiethnic empires and states over the centuries. Thus, a short overview
of the language policy in the Habsburg Monarchy, Austro-Hungary and
the Kingdom of Yugoslavia is initially presented. The paper however sheds light
upon the period under the reign of the Kingdom of Yugoslavia, i.e. the period
between the World Wars. The analysis is based upon the contemporary fieldwork
conducted among the Serbian Banat Germans, who referred to the habitual
practices of multilingualism in the interwar period.
AB  - Plurilinguisme comme habitus:Le discours des Allemands du Banat sur la période d’entre deux guerres mоndiales

Le plurilinguisme dans le Banat est apparu sous l’influence des politiques
linguistiques des différents états qui se sont succédé sur ce territoire. Dans cet
article est donné un bref aperçu de la situation dans l’Empire des Habsbourg,
dans la monarchie austro-hongroise, et le Royaume de Yougoslavie. L’analyse
est basée sur les recherches de terrain contemporaines concernant les Allemands
du Banat, dont les récits témoignent des pratiques habituelles du plurilinguisme
entre deux guerres mondiales.

AB  - У раду истражујемо усмену предају о досељавању Немаца у Војводину, на северу Републике Србије. Према историјским изворима, немачко становништво је колонизовано у јужној Угарској и дуж средњег тока Дунава током 18. и 19. века. Савремена антрополошка истраживања војвођанских Немаца показују да усмена предаја о досељавању има важно место у конструкцији идентитета, и то посебно у породичним, локалним и регионалним идентификацијама.
AB  - The paper focuses upon oral transmission of legendary settling of the German
families to Vojvodina, northern Serbia. According to historical records, the settling
of Germans resulted from the massive colonization of South Hungary and the Middle
Danube, in the period from the 18th to the 19th century. Contemporary field
research showed that oral transmission of legendary settling plays an important
role in the identity construction among the Germans in Vojvodina at the present
time. Narrations about settling of anonymous ancestors are combined with small
narratives about concrete ancestors who are referred to by name. Thus, oral family
geneaologies are created which mostly index family and local ethnic identity, and in
the second place national one.

AB  - У раду се даје кратак преглед језичке ситуације и језичких политика држава које су се смењивале на простору Баната и утицале не формирање језичке идеологије банатских Немаца, од Хабсбуршке и Аустро-Угарске монархије, до Краљевине Југославије и социјалистичке Југославије. Анализа је заснована на дискурсу банатских Немаца, забележеном у савременим теренским истраживањима.
AB  - The paper presents an overview of the language situation and language policy carried
out by different states in the region of Banat which had shaped language ideology of
the Banat Germans, from Habsburg Monarchy and Austro-Hungary, to Yugoslavia and
Socialist Yugoslavia later. The analysis is based upon the discourse of the Banat Germans,
recorded during the fieldwork in the research interviews. Main themes concerning
contemporary language practices are singled out and reflected upon.
