AB - In this work we have analyzed the effects of Ti doping on structural and electrical properties of α-Fe2O3. When the amount of added Ti (5 wt.%TiO2) was within the solubility degree and XRD, SEM and EDS analysis revealed a homogenous hematite structure, with lattice parameters a= 5.03719(3) Å, c=13.7484(1) Å slightly increased due to incorporation of Ti into the rhombohedral hematite lattice. Higher amounts of Ti (10 wt.%TiO2) resulted in the formation of pseudobrookite, besides hematite, confirmed by SEM and EDS analysis. Studies of electric properties in the temperature range 25-225oC at different frequencies (100 - 1Mz) showed that Ti doping improved electrical conductivity. Impedance analysis was performed using an equivalent circuit, showing one relaxation process and suggesting dominant grain boundary contribution. [Projekat Ministarstva nauke Republike Srbije, br. AB - The effects of Zn-doping on the dielectric behavior and electrical properties of bulk α-Fe2O3 have been studied. X-ray diffraction analysis revealed the presence of two phases in all samples: hematite and spinel ZnFe2O4, with the amount of spinel phase increasing with increasing Zn content. Scanning electron microscopy analysis combined with energy dispersive X-ray spectroscopy showed that the Zn-bearing phase occurred in the form of individual spinel ZnFe2O4 grains in a hematite matrix. DC conductivity was measured in the temperature range 25-225oC (298-498 K). Impedance spectroscopy measurements in the same temperature range were carried out in the frequency range 100Hz to 10 MHz. Increase in the Zn content resulted in increased electrical conductivity and higher values of the dielectric constant. The resistance and capacitance of grains and grain boundaries were analyzed by modeling the experimental results using an equivalent circuit. [Projekat Ministarstva nauke Republike Srbije, br. AB - Impedance/admittance and dielectric spectroscopy were used to investigate the effect of temperature on the electrical response of liquid-phase sintered Zn 2SnO 4-SnO 2 ceramics. The measurements were performed over a wide frequency range (100 Hz to 10 MHz) at different temperatures. The real and the imaginary part of the complex impedance traced semicircles in the complex plane. The resistance and the capacitance of bulk and grain-boundary regions were determined by modeling the experimental results using several equivalent circuits taking into account bulk deep trap states. Admittance complex diagrams were also determined in order to understand better the conduction mechanisms occurring in the polycrystalline Zn 2SnO 4-SnO 2 system. © 2010 TMS.

AB - In this work the DC resistivity of sintered nickel manganite NiMn2O4 (NTC thermistor material) was studied as a function of additional powder activation time in a planetary ball mill (0, 5, 15, 30, 45 and 60 min). The activated powders and non-activated powder were sintered at different temperatures (900, 1050 and 12000C) for an hour. Structural changes were analyzed using XRD. Sample density, porosity and DC resistivity were measured on the same sintered samples. Correlations between sample density, porosity, and intrinsic DC resistivity vs. additional powder activation time and the sintering temperature were made. It was noticed that the resistivity falls with the increase of sample density (or increase of the sintering temperature).

AB - The effects of small amounts (0.5; 1.0 and 1.5 mol. %) of bismuth oxide on the microstructure and electrical properties of ZnO-SnO2 ceramics have been studied. Starting powders of ZnO and SnO2 were mixed in the molar ratio 2:1. After adding Bi2O3 this mixture was mechanically activated for 10 minutes in a planetary ball mill, uniaxially pressed and sintered at 1300ºC for 2h. The phase composition of the sintered samples was analyzed by X-Ray Diffraction (XRD) and by Energy Dispersive Spectrometer (EDS). Morphologies were examined by Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM). An Impedance/Gain Phase Analyzer (HP 4194A) was used to measure the impedance spectra (100Hz - 10MHz) at different temperatures. The electrical DC resistivity/conductivity at different temperatures was measured using a High Resistance Meter (HP 4329A).

The electrical DC resistivity/conductivity at different temperatures was measured using a High Resistance Meter (HP 4329A).",
