AB - Poly(vinylidenefluoride)–ZnO (PVDF–ZnO) nanocomposites with mechanically activated ZnO nanoparticle fillers were investigated using thermal and mechanical analysis and AFM and PFM. Differential scanning calorimetry (DSC) investigated the effect of ZnO nanoparticles on the crystallinity of the polymer, under controlled heating and cooling. Atomic force (AFM) microscopy was used to record the surfaces of the samples. Nanocomposite surface roughness shows the presence of the different phases inside of the matrix, where rough samples contain a higher proportion of the β phase. PFM was performed to investigate the piezoresponse of the composites. Nanoidentation showed that the mechanical activation of the filler (ZnO) increases the Young modulus with the activation time. Molecular simulations in periodic systems (PVDF–ZnO spherical nanocluster and nanocylinder composite) were used to investigate the influence of particle size and shape on the Young modulus of different phases of PVDF.

AB - In the history of the central Balkans prior to the Roman conquest migrations of people had manifold importance. The recognition of these migrations has been the basis for distinguishing between different periods of prehistory. Various analyses of the material culture offer information on the social contact between the invaders and the autochtonous populations. They reveal details of the transfer of elements of culture and technological knowledge from one region to another. Of particular significance in this respect are migrations over vast territories, sometimes from as far as the Ural mountains in the east, the Alps in the west and the Pindus in Greece to the south. Investigations into the models of the migrations open up possibilities for determining the variation in, and different forms of, human movement from one geographic area to another.

Bronze and Iron Age sites in Srem and the stratigraphy of Gomolava

AB - Systematic excavation at Gomolava conducted almost interruptedly between 1953 and 1985 provided an almost full insight into the human occupation of the southern Pannonian Plain from the Early Neolithic to the successive arrival of Celts and Romans. This fact makes it possible for many of the excavated short-lived or horizontally-stratified settlements to be defined in relation to Gomolava's stratigraphic sequence. As a result, the paper attempts to establish a relative chronology for Bronze and Iron Age sites in the area between the Sava and Danube rivers. By way of illustration, it offers four maps suggesting synchronous developments. Thus Map 1 shows chronological parallelism between the Early Bronze Age layers and late Vučedol and Vinkovci sites (such as Pećine near Vrdnik, or Belegiš, Vojka and Batajnica) belonging to the final Eneolithic and Early Bronze, while Map 2 shows synchronisms between Gomolava IVb-c and the Vinkovci layers at the sites of Gradina on the Bosut, Gradac at Belegiš, Petrovaradin Fortress, and Asfaltna Baza on the outskirts of Zemun. The end of the Bronze Age represented by Gomolava IVb1 to IVc is shown to be synchronous with the settlements, necropolises and hoard horizons of an Ha A1 and A2 date. Finally, Early Iron Age sites are easy to fit in with the Srem sites owing to systematic excavations at Gradina on the Bosut near Šid, Kalakača near Beška and numerous hoards of bronze artefacts marking a clear boundary between the Bronze and Early Iron Ages. At Gomolava this transition is reflected in horizons Va to Vd: the earliest is represented by black channeled pottery of the Gava type, while the other three are connected with the evolution of the Bosut-Basarabi complex.

AB - The paper recognizes the most important results in the study of prehistoric cultures and sites in southeastern Europe. The fieldwork and scholarly research of Dragoslav Srejovic covers all epochs of prehistoric archeology from Paleolithic stations in Montenegro and Mesolithic sites in the Đerdap through studies of Neolithic art, to the Bronze and Iron ages. His research was not restricted to material cultures alone, but problems pertaining to cultural and chronological relations, art and ethnological determinations of archeological material from the 1st millennium BC.

AB - The study of Eneolithic sites and cultures, and of the Eneolithic in
general, does not have a long tradition in former Yugoslavia. If we take as its
starting point the systematic excavations of Ig (Ljubljansko Barje) carried out
by K. Deschman in 18751 we are left with a period of some 120 years. Extensive
material has been collected during that time, relating to Eneolithic settlements
and necropolises, the material and non-material culture of the period, the
relative and absolute dating of the cultures, cultural groups, and their variants,
as well as the period as a whole, so that it is now possible to offer a fairly accurate
synthetic survey of the development of the cultures, their stylistic and typological features.

A l'âge

A l'âge
