AB - This study examines the nexus between employee engagement and the performance management process using the example of Fruška Gora National Park, Serbia. The main scientific problem is to refocus awareness on performance management systems and to investigate methods to upgrade
employee engagement. The paper starts with the main hypothesis that employee engagement is
a main factor for increasing employee efficiency. The practical tasks of this study are to define the relationship between employee engagement and performance management processes, and to find out
what creates employee engagement. Since national parks have a lot of specifics as an organization,
we proposed that their employee engagement is much more pronounced. The research was carried
out on 103 employees of the Fruška Gora National Park, Serbia. Our findings indicate that employee
engagement is directly proportional to the feeling of belonging to the company; further, if employees
feel that a superior appreciates their work and effort, this will also increase employee engagement. Finally, a successful performance management process will positively impact employee engagement.

AB - This research is devoted to the determination of the causal relationship between the flow of particles that are coming from the Sun and the hurricanes Irma, Jose, and Katia. To accomplish this, the lag correlation analysis was performed. High correlation coefficients confirmed a preliminary conclusion about the relationship between solar activities and the hurricane phenomenon, which allows further research. Five parameters i.e. characteristics of solar activity (10.7 cm solar radio flux (F10.7), the flows of protons and electrons with maximum energy, speed and density of solar wind particles) were chosen as model input, while the wind speed and air pressure of Irma, Jose, and Katia hurricanes were used as model output. Input data were sampled to a six hours interval in order to adapt the time interval to the observed data about hurricanes, in the period between September 28 and December 21, 2017. As a result of the preliminary analysis, using 12,274,264 linear models by parallel calculations, six of them were chosen as best. The identified lags were the basis for refinement of models with the artificial neural networks. Multilayer perceptrons with back propagation and recurrent LSTM have been chosen as commonly used artificial neural networks. Comparison of the accuracy of both linear and artificial neural networks results confirmed the adequacy of these models and made it possible to take into account the dynamics of the solar wind. Sensitivity analysis has shown that F10.7 has the greatest impact on the wind speed of the hurricanes. Despite low sensitivity of pressure to change the parameters of the solar wind, their strong fluctuations can cause a sharp decrease in pressure, and therefore the appearance of hurricanes.

AB - Regardless of their type and structure, natural resources represent the basis for industrial and economic development of every country. The aim of this study is to determine and display the natural potential in the territory of the City of Subotica (Vojvodina Province in Northern Serbia), on the basis of four protected natural areas. These areas are: Palić Nature Park, Ludaško jezero Special Nature Reserve, Selevenjske pustare Special Nature Reserve and Subotička peščara Protected Landscape of Exceptional Distinction. All listed areas represent the main aspects for ecotourism development in this part of the country, so one of the aims of the research is to identify key stakeholders that should be involved in proper developing of this form of tourism. When preforming this study, survey research techniques were used. Respondents were Subotica’s residents, who were asked to rate the state of the environment in these surroundings, as well as to give their opinions about the possibilities for the development of ecotourism. Based on the analysis of the dependent and independent variables, it was concluded that the residents are generally satisfied with the conditions of the environment, they also consider that the development of this form of tourism would raise the awareness of locals about the importance of preserving these protected areas. The result may be significant when launching a new tourism product, while preserving the protected areas and adapting for future visitors’ needs.

countryside, under the influence of tourism progress. The article identifies the main rural tourism
competitiveness in Serbia and Slovenia, as one of the essential factors of rural development in both

this study were collected using the Integrated Model of Destination Competitiveness to observe
Serbian and Slovenian competitiveness in tourism. Determinants were assessed using a survey
evaluating four demanding factors and 20 supporting factors, based upon a five-point Likert Scale.
The results indicated that the friendliness of residents towards visitors, easy communication
between them, together with quality of infrastructure and health facilities show the highest level
of statistical correlation. These are the main propositions to start an initiative for the authorities in
local communities to actively participate in sustainable rural development. The findings provide
tourism stakeholders with relevant respondents’ perceptions pertaining to the tourism development
in non-urban areas.

AB - This paper deals with the core elements of the marketing mix in Serbian agritourism: product, price, promotion and distribution. In order to achieve profitability and sustainability of agritourist products, it is necessary to carry out several activities such as market research and segmentation, purchase as an additional source of income, classification and labeling as quality guarantee. The price as the most important element depends on the attractiveness of the product and its quality. Additionally, external factors on the tourism market (e.g. entire rural area) as well as internal factors (e.g. farm-stay accommodation) at the local level should be taken into account. On the other hand, promotion has an important role when introducing a product on the market. The major forms of promotion are: advertising with graphic, audio-visual and other means (brochures, souvenirs, Internet pages, stock exchange participation etc.), public relations (contact with market participants) and sales promotion oriented towards sales markets in order to improve business. Besides these forms of promotion, the personal selling, publicity, oral advertising and sponsorship are also pointed out. Finally, distribution channels allow the placement of products to end consumers. In this sense, the role of tourist agencies is to unify the offer of Serbian agritourism. Bearing in mind all the above, we can conclude that marketing may influence market positioning of a product. Therefore, in the future we should work on removing the marketing barriers that Serbian agritourism encounters.

abstract = "This paper deals with the core elements of the marketing mix in Serbian agritourism: product, price, promotion and distribution. Therefore, in the future we should work on removing the marketing barriers that Serbian agritourism encounters.",

AB - Gastronomy tourism can be regarded as a travel to a destination for cultural purposes with experiences of unique and traditional foods at the destination. Based on this, the main hypothesis is set. It follows that traditional food is one of the main reasons for loyalty of tourists. The paper is based on empirical research carried out amongst 328 foreign tourists from eight countries who visited six traditional farm houses (Salaši) in rural destination of Vojvodina (Serbia) in August 2015. The purpose of the study is to investigate the role and importance of traditional food in tourist satisfaction and the extent to which traditional food affects positive attitude and loyalty of the tourists about the rural destination. Analysis of the findings revealed that the traditional food is the attribute that most affected the overall rural tourism experience in Vojvodina (Serbia). It is concluded in the paper that traditional food is important contributor to tourist satisfaction and that satisfied tourists are always pleased to return to a destination.

AB - Negative effects of tourism development in a destination are usually the consequence of the high concentration of tourists, accommodation facilities and the activities that are practiced in a relatively restricted area. One of the most important measures to protect the areas is to calculate the maximum number of tourists that can simultaneously reside in a region, i.e. the determination of the carrying capacity. This paper outlines a method for determining carrying capacity based on zoning of environmental resources and zoning within a region. The paper argues for a return to the idea of identifying maximum appropriate number of users. The main hypothesis of the paper is based on the statement that the development of tourism in Fruška Gora (Mountain) National Park in Northern Serbia must be in accordance with the basic principles of sustainability, including the determination of carrying capacity. The main research goal was to show the opinion of local residents about the uncontrolled development of tourism, and to determine the carrying capacity in four sports and recreational zones of the mountain. The carrying capacity of the area is calculated by Lavery and Stanev formulas.

AB - The article empathizes the studies of the effects of the international processes on
economy growth, which is reflected in intensity and the direction of the tourist flows, as well as in the development of the special interests tourism. In modern studies on the development of the
international tourist trends, tourism activities in rural surroundings have raised as its very increasing segment. Competition in tourism development in the region is performed powerfully,
although there is often cooperation on cluster-supporting basis. Due to the characteristics of the
tourism cluster, local development programs consider it as a local strategy for combating regional
disparities and social inequality. The model of tourism development of the rural parts of Serbia
presented in this paper shows the agglomerate tourism development in the region, which segments are generally effectively dependent on each other. Nevertheless, unsatisfactory performance of one may compromise the success of the others. Together with these, results show supporting entities in tourism divided into four groups. These are the key propositions to start an initiative for the tourism to actively participates in the overall progress of countryside. The results provide residents, tourism organizers and local authorities with relevant ideas pertaining to the potential increasing development of the region.
