AB - The study focuses on the present state and the assessments of geotourism development of the two most representative tufa deposits in the Djerdap National Park—the first UNESCO Global Geopark in Serbia. The findings were designated through implementing the freshly upgraded methodology—M-GAM-1-2 based on an early modified geosites assessment model (M-GAM). To overcome the limitations of the previous model, the authors implemented additional enhancements and involved members of the local community (residents and authorities) in the study to comprehensively evaluate the observed sites. The outcomes revealed that the attitudes of all stakeholders should be taken into consideration in order to develop geotourism properly, additionally attract visitors, and preserve tufa deposits for future generations of locals and visitors. Moreover, geotourism at the observed sites can be one of the vital activities of the population, as well as a type of compensation for various limitations in the development, which are imposed by the regimes of natural and cultural heritage protection within the recently established UNESCO Global Geopark.

AB - This study examines the nexus between employee engagement and the performance management process using the example of Fruška Gora National Park, Serbia. The main scientific problem is to refocus awareness on performance management systems and to investigate methods to upgrade
employee engagement. The paper starts with the main hypothesis that employee engagement is
a main factor for increasing employee efficiency. The practical tasks of this study are to define the relationship between employee engagement and performance management processes, and to find out
what creates employee engagement. Since national parks have a lot of specifics as an organization,
we proposed that their employee engagement is much more pronounced. The research was carried
out on 103 employees of the Fruška Gora National Park, Serbia. Our findings indicate that employee
engagement is directly proportional to the feeling of belonging to the company; further, if employees
feel that a superior appreciates their work and effort, this will also increase employee engagement. Finally, a successful performance management process will positively impact employee engagement.

Personalities shaping travel behaviors: post-COVID Scenario

AB - Purpose
This study aims to offer insights into a sounder understanding of tourist behavior and travel patterns by systematically identifying psychological manifestations reflected in the basic human value system in the pandemic-induced environment.

Design/methodology/approach
A large random sample (49,519 respondents from 29 European countries), generated from the core module Round 9 of the European Social Survey, was used. A post-COVID-19 psychological travel behavior model was constructed by using 12 variables within two opposing value structures (openness to change versus conservatism), shaping specific personalities.

Findings
Four types of tourists were identified by using K-means cluster analysis (risk-sensitive, risk-indifferent, risk-tolerant and risk-resistant). The risk-sensibility varied across the groups and was influenced by socio-demographic characteristics, economic status and even differed geographically among nations and traveling cultures.

Research limitations/implications
First, data were collected before the pandemic and did not include information on tourism participation. Second, the model was fully driven by internal factors – motivation. Investigation of additional variables, especially those related to socialization aspects, and some external factors of influence on travel behaviors during and after the crisis, will provide more precise scientific reasoning.

Originality/value
The model was upgraded to some current constructs of salient short-term post-COVID-19 travel behavior embedded in the core principles of universal human values. By separating specific segments of tourists who appreciate personal safety and conformity, from those sharing the extensive need for self-direction and adventure, the suggested model presents a strong background for predicting flows in the post-COVID-19 era.

AB - This study examines the relationship between environmental attitudes and human value sets in forming an eco-tourist market segment within the European region. Different studies indicated that environmental attitudes reflected in general motivations were closely and positively related. Some findings showed that the examination of environmental attitudes that concern psychological factors (motivation) could be more powerful and meaningful than socio-demographic characteristics. The purpose of this study is to examine if human values that indicate basic motivational aspects, when inter-related with high environmental sensibility shared by different people from Europe, could be used for the creation of a specific market segmentation model. The findings identified three main factors that determine tourist values, while at the same time, the multiple discriminant analysis indicated the existence of several clusters, allowing for an identification of ‘eco-friendly’ tourist segments. By using data collections from the European Social Survey, the model also allowed comparability between surveyed countries by crosschecking multiple psycho-sociological and demographic factors, focusing on the environmentally sensitive groups, the so-called ‘eco-careful’ (hard) and ‘eco-sensible’ (soft) tourists. Furthermore, the study looked at potential demand markets that are interested in preserved nature, recreation, and adventure tours. The study confirmed that basic human values play an important role in explaining motivation aspects in tourism-related choices.

AB - Recent tourism research showed that, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, various psychological aspects affected people’s decisions and travel behavior (Miao et al., 2021; Yang et al., 2020; Gössling et al., 2020). Tourism has never experienced such a global collapse, fiercely supported by governmental decisions in holding back all tourism-related activities. This research attempts to offer insights into a sounder understanding of tourist behavior and travel patterns by systematically identifying psychological manifestations reflected in the basic human value system. Using statistical tests, hypothesized group divide based on specific value sets related to safety and conformity and on the opposite travel needs, being embedded in the hierarchy of human values. The study further indicated that defined risk-related cluster groups have different sociodemographic characteristics and geographical distribution.

AB - A crisis caused by COVID-19 pandemic affected the whole world leaving long-lasting effects on almost every aspect of human lives. The aim of this study was to test how different effects of COVID-19, expressed through job insecurity, employees' health complaints occurred during isolation, risk-taking behavior at workplace and changes in the organization, may impact work-related attitudes (job motivation and job satisfaction) and turnover intentions of the employees in hospitality industry. Based on the data collected from 624 hospitality workers from Serbia, the results indicated that job insecurity and changes in the organization were predictors of all outcomes, in a negative direction, while risk-taking behavior acted as a predictor of job satisfaction only, also in a negative direction. The significance of demographic characteristics, as control variables, showed that age and marital status had significant impact on job motivation and turnover intentions. The theoretical and practical implications were discussed.

AB - Rural tourism is often considered to be a factor in the development tendencies of rural space, a factor in the development of agriculture, as well as a factor in reducing rural depopulation. The primary aim of the research was to look at the problems in financing sustainable rural tourism in the case study of Serbia. The secondary one was to analyze the factors that may influence the self-financing capacity of rural tourism service providers. The findings confirmed the main hypothesis that financial resources are a significant limitation of the development of sustainable rural tourism. It was found that there is a high correlation between the amount of income generated and the structure of the workforce. The results verified that rural tourism entities were not making sufficient investments due to lack of financial resources, i.e., adequate financing modalities. It can be concluded thatin order to develop sustainable rural tourism, financial investments are needed, both at the level of service providers and at the macro level.

AB - In the paper, the aridity is defined on the basis of four climate indices: De Martonne's index of aridity, Lang's Rain Factor and Gracanin's Rain factor for the vegetation period and hydrothermal coefficient of Seljaninov. While the annual value of the drought index (I-DM) shows humid characteristics, the monthly values show the variability of the conditions. The summer months (July and August) are classified as semi-arid months, while the winter months (December-February) are extremely humid. The spatial distribution of the isoarids indicates that the northern part of the basin has the characteristics of a semiarid climate, while the southeastern parts are more humid. The analysis of mean annual values of the drought index indicates in semiarid conditions (1990 and 2000), but also the humid conditions (2005 and 2009). A positive linear trend indicates that there is a tendency towards humid conditions. The significance test confirms the existence of a statistically significant trend. During the vegetation period, semi-arid conditions are present (July-August). April is slightly humid, and October is moderately arid. The Lang's Rain Factor (KFg) characterizes basin climate as semiarid, while the Gracanin rain factor for the vegetation period (KFm) indicates a moisture deficit in the summer months. Hydrothermal coefficient Seljaninova (HTC) indicates a lack of moisture in July and August. Vegetation period is characterized as insufficiently humid. Irrigation is one of the most important measures for solving drought problems, since the yield varies from year to year.

AB - This study aims to explore the use of the social-ecological system (SES) in tourism of a mountain area. Authors examined residents’ perceptions of tourism impacts on four SES aspects: ecosystems, local knowledge, people and technology and property rights institutions. The aim is to find area that will be a “common ground” for community and area that can be a source of conflict and will require additional work to solve the differences. Second objective was to examine residents’ perception towards future local development tourism policies (winter tourism, seasonality and environment and culture) and how those policies can affect natural, socio-economic and cultural aspects of mountain area. Residents’ perceptions of sustainable tourism development potential, perceivedtourismimpacts, analysisofcommunityattachmentandemploymentsectorofstakeholder were involved in this study. The authors applied the Q-methodology, as one SES-allied approach, in a small mountain community of Kopaonik, the Republic of Serbia. The results revealed that residents’ agreement/disagreement is connected with two aspects: ecosystem and property rights andthatecosystemcanbesignificantlyinfluencedbyallthreedevelopmentpolicies. Findingssuggest that development of future natural conservation plans and new cultural attractions can have positive effects on all parts of social-ecological system. Some practical implications of those findings for tourism planning and development are also discussed.

AB - The article empathizes the studies of the effects of the international processes on
economy growth, which is reflected in intensity and the direction of the tourist flows, as well as in the development of the special interests tourism. In modern studies on the development of the
international tourist trends, tourism activities in rural surroundings have raised as its very increasing segment. Competition in tourism development in the region is performed powerfully,
although there is often cooperation on cluster-supporting basis. Due to the characteristics of the
tourism cluster, local development programs consider it as a local strategy for combating regional
disparities and social inequality. The model of tourism development of the rural parts of Serbia
presented in this paper shows the agglomerate tourism development in the region, which segments are generally effectively dependent on each other. Nevertheless, unsatisfactory performance of one may compromise the success of the others. Together with these, results show supporting entities in tourism divided into four groups. These are the key propositions to start an initiative for the tourism to actively participates in the overall progress of countryside. The results provide residents, tourism organizers and local authorities with relevant ideas pertaining to the potential increasing development of the region.

The holistic approach, in this regard, includes the integrated and the comprehensive aspects of tourist stays in the countryside. The authors define the impact of agritourism on rural surroundings and analyze the influence of spending leisure time outside urban areas and consuming agritourism activities. Understanding the many components of agritourism is essential for future planning, management, business decisions and strategies. For success in agritourism, knowledge is necessary in many economic fields, including organization, management and marketing, among others. In addition, this article emphasizes products and services in agritourism and provides insight into the facilities and opportunities that are offered to tourists in rural areas. The research findings represent a useful tool for obtaining information about many elements of agritourism development and can serve as a relevant instrument in travel industry research or in academic investigation.

AB - Global competition in the tourism industry has become a challenge for many countries that are competing to become a desirable tourist destination, so understanding the factors that contribute to the competitiveness of destinations is essential to maintain the current level of development of tourist destination, its growth and vitality. Therefore, measurement of competitiveness can be considered as a key factor in ensuring the success of tourist destinations. The subject of this dissertation is to identify and determine the significance of the factors that may have an impact on the competitiveness of rural tourism in Vojvodina. In the paper, survey research is used in order to investigate attitudes of stakeholders important for rural tourism development on the supply side in Vojvodina and Hungary (direct service providers in rural tourism, employees of tourist organizations and travel agencies, employees of municipal and provincial departments, employees of ministries, teaching staff at universities). The main objective of the research is to determine how much Vojvodina is a competitivedestination for rural tourism, or to assess the current state of all the factors that affect/could affect the competitiveness of Vojvodina. The scientific contribution of the  doctoral dissertation research is reflected in the identification of determinants that are  important for the competitiveness of rural tourism destination. As a result, the model will be developed to measure the competitiveness of rural tourism destinations, which will be applicable to Vojvodina, the province that has the capacity to develop rural tourism, or any other destination of rural tourism.
