Рјечник лингвистичких назива Р. Симеона и српски језик

Abstract

Двотомни Енциклопедијски рјечник лингвисишчких назива објављен је 1969. године у Загребу, две године после објаве Декларације о називу и положају хрвашског књижевног језика. У раду се скреће пажња на одреднице које се тичу тада актуелних социолингвистичких питања (hrvatski jezik), hrvatskosrpski (jezik), srpski (jezik),[tokavski, ijekavski и сл.). Запажа се да су тамо изнесени ставови, темељени на селективном изношењу и недовољно објективном презентовању чињеница, увелико могли утицати на формирање глобалне слике о српско-хрватским језичким и етничким односима.

In 1969. in Zagreb, two years after the publication of Declaration on the Name and Status of the Croatian Literary Language, a two-volume Encyclopedic Dictionary of Linguistic Terms was published. The paper focuses on entries concerning sociological issues of interest at the time (Croatian (language), Croato-Serbian (language), Serbian (language), Stokavian, Ijekavian, and the like) and Croato-Serbian disputes, which received a disproportionate amount of space in regarding their significance, 1n the context of general linguistic terminology. After observing the range of entries covering contemporary languages (e.g. English, German and Chinese are covered in two incomplete columns, while Croatian has 20 full columns), it 1s evident that the editors of the dictionary followed socio-political criteria when compiling the dictionary, and not linguistic ones. All entries concerning the so-called Serbo-Croatian language were used for promoting their linguistic policies and for a promotion of Croatian national interests. It can be observed that the presented attitudes were based on selective presentation and biased interpretation of linguistic facts.
