О некоторых динамических процессах в современной русской терминологии

Abstract

The paper investigates new tendencies in the development of modern Russian languages for special purposes. The analysis shows that current terminological nominations display some of the features typical of idiomatic expressions. In particular, newly formed terminological units often result from semantic transfer or emerge by analogy with conventional language signs, either scholarly terms or common literary words/phrases. Some of them have a periphrastic, euphemistic quality and tend to function as euphemisms proper in modern discourse. The study also reveals the properties of many recently coined terms, such as ambiguity, idiomaticity, and connotation, which are not characteristic of LSP. Owing to the ambiguous, trope-like quality of such nominations, units of this kind admit diverse interpretations, and this phenomenon, therefore, may bring about polysemy and homonymy. Some of these terms derived from existing idiomatic expressions eventually acquired a technical meaning in certain terminological systems, while others developed an idiomatic meaning and came into general use.

В статье на примере русского языка рассматриваются некоторые инновации в современных языках для специальных целей. Как показывает проведенное ис- следование, современная терминологическая номинация обнаруживает некоторое сходство с фразеологизацией: терминологические новообразования нередко возни- кают в результате образного переосмысления, эвфемизации или по аналогии и могут демонстрировать такие характеристики, как идиоматичность, неоднознач- ность значения и коннотация. Кроме того, некоторые термины были заимство- ваны непосредственно из фразеологии и приобрели иное, техническое, значение в составе определенной терминосистемы. Языки для специальных целей также служат источником фразеологизмов.
