Обрасци српског језика у руском издању Новаковићеве Граматике српског језика

Abstract

The Serbian Grammar by Stojan Novaković is the first noteworthy grammar of the Serbian literary language after Vuk Karadić's reform. It was published in successive fragments and was first released as a single volume in 1894 in Belgrade. Before that, it was published in Russian in St. Petersburg, in 1890. The St. Petersburg edition was significantly reduced and it was equipped with a brief Serbian to Russian dictionary and examples of the Serbian language. Therefore, it was the first well-founded Serbian language tuition book in Russia. After presenting the Russian edition of the grammar, this paper will focus in greater detail on the texts selected and included in the Grammar by the publisher. When we compare the examples of Serbian artistic literature included in the chrestomathy and the Serbian artistic literature from the period when the Grammar was published, we can conclude that it was in this regard that the author made the least fortunate choice: both the examples that illustrate the old Serbian language and the examples that illustrate Serbian folk poetry were better selected. The space available to the author of this work was probably limited and he obviously gave priority to some political reasons. After all, he emphasized in the introduction that scholarly and social reasons led to the publication of this Grammar. Some objections that may seem plausible from the present standpoint do not reduce the importance of the publication of this book, which was certainly a first-class event for the Russian Slavic studies and Serbian studies.

Прва значајна граматика српског књижевног језика вуковског типа јесте Новаковићева Српска граматика. Она је излазила по дијеловима, а први пут је објављена у једним корицама 1894. године у Београду. Прије тога је изашла на руском језику у Петрограду – 1890. године. Петроградско издање је знатно скраћено, а опремљено је малим рјечником српско-руским и примјерима српског језика. Тако је она представљала први солидан уџбеник српскога језика у руској средини. У овоме раду ће се послије представљања руског издања граматике нешто више говорити управо о тим текстовима које је издавач одабрао и приложио у Граматици.
