Називи објеката за смештај и прераду намирница, житарица, крмних и других биљака у Речнику српских говора Војводине

Abstract

This paper analyzes names of objects for keeping and processing foodstuff, grains, forages and other plants. The lexemes are taken from the Rečnik srpskih govora Vojvodine. The aim of the research is to analyze the structure and to check the status of the chosen lexical items in contemporary Serbian within the framework of one vernacular system (consisting of two dialects – Šumadija-Vojvodina and Smederevo-Vršac). The chosen lexicon is divided into 5 categories based on the theory of semantic fields: ‘objects for keeping foodstuff’, ‘objects for processing foodstuff’, ‘objects for keeping grains’, ‘objects for processing grains’, and ‘objects for keeping and processing forages and other plants’. In addition to the lexical semantic analysis, a morphological (diachronic and synchronic) and etymological analysesare also conducted.
