Владан Ђорђевић и Историја српског војног санитета

Abstract

Владан Ђорђевић написао је најдетаљнију историју српског војног санитета за период од 50 година, од формирања 1835. до 1886. Писао је на основу службених докумената, мемоара, записа савременика, као и својих запажања, јер је био учесник актуелних догађаја у периоду од почетка свог рада у војном санитету 1871. до 1878. и у току Српско-бугарског рата 1885–86. године. Владан је био не само историчар српског војног санитета него у једном периоду и креатор и организатор његовог рада. Неколико година после формирања сталне српске војске формиран је и њен санитет. Да би приказао битне догађаје из историје санитета, Владан је у својој Историји наводио и најважније догађаје у развоју и раду српске војске, који су утицали на развој и рад санитета. Описао је формирање и развој првих војних болница и других војних медицинских установа, али и настанак и развој правних прописа којима је регулисан рад војног санитета. Детаљно је приказао рад санитета у два српско-турска рата (1876–77. и 1877–78) и у Српско-бугарском рату (1885–86). После свих важних догађаја у војсци и санитету, а посебно после ратова, др Владан Ђорђевић је на основу расположивих података вршио детаљне анализе, издвајао битне догађаје, изводио закључке и давао веома конкретне и практичне предлоге за побољшање организације и рада санитета. Био је свестан значаја који има добро организована и функционална санитетска служба, не само за сваког официра и војника, него и за целу војску и државу.

Dr Vladan Đorđević wrote the four-volume history of the Serbian Medical Corps, spanning a period of 50 years, from its formation in 1835 up to the end of the Serbo-Bulgarian War in 1886. In the first volume, he described the formation of the Serbian Medical Corps and its evolvement in peacetime up to 1875. In the other three volumes he described the work of medical service in wartime: in the second volume he described the work of Medical Corps during the First Serbian-Turkish War, which took place in 1876, in the third during the Second Serbian-Turkish War 1877–1878, and in the fourth its work during the Serbo-Bulgarian War 1885–1886. He used archival materials and official documents, notes of his contemporaries, as well as his own observations, given that during the abovementioned wars he occupied highest-ranking positions in the Serbian Medical Corps, as the mastermind behind its organization and work. The paper particularly focuses on the drafting of regulations governing the organization and role of the Medical Corps in peacetime and wartime, measures to protect and improve the health of soldiers, formation of permanent and temporary military hospitals, providing enough medical staff, supply of medicines and medical supplies, evacuation of injured and sick and the causes of illness and death among military personnel. Historically, the paper provides an account of the evolving role of the Military Corps, as well as of numerous problems that emerged during that period of time. Based on the detailed and succinct account of the role of the Serbian Medical Corps in the 19th century, which was presented by Dr Vladan Đorđević, one can understand the importance of this service for the army and the state, both in peacetime and wartime.
