On possible interpretations of the semantic relation between the adjectives GRD and GORD

Abstract

The aim of this paper is to analyze the semantic relation between the lexemes grd and gord in view of the three different interpretations of the development of Proto-Slavic adjective gyrdy. According to the first two explanations, one of the secondary meanings first became independent, and according to the third one, primary meaning became independent first. By this separation of one of the meanings the independent development of the contemporary adjectives grd and gord began.

U radu se analizira značenjski odnos leksema gord i grg sa stanovišta tri različita tumačenja semantičkog razvoja praslovenskog prideva gyrdy. Po prvom i drugom tumačenju prvo se osamostalilo jedno od sekundarnih značenja ovog prideva. A po trećem osamostalilo se osnovno značenje. Osamostaljivanjem jednog od značenja otpočeo je samostalni razvitak današnjih prideva grd i gord.
