Antropologija amerikanizacije Holokausta / Anthropology of the Americanization of the Holocaust
U monografiji pratimo „amerikanizaciju Holokausta“ kroz sećanje u prostoru, filmu i virtuelnoj formi.
In the monograph, we follow “Americanization of Holocaust” through memory in space, lm and virtual form. By means of the analysis of organizing memory policy in American Holocaust museums, memori-als and other institutions, we perceive the American way of connecting space and memory, which not only are thousands of kilometers away but also decades apart. In the part of the work dealing with Holocaust in American lm and the process of hollywoodization of Holocaust, dif-ferent perspectives in which experience and memories are connected to Holocaust are being exposed, as well as the role of America presented in time, in Holocaust movies. Finally, modern forms of memory and phenomenon of interactive virtual memory are being emphasized. In the chapter, the accent falls on American web signs and social networks, which dene the way in which new generations comprehend not only Holocaust events, but also all other events, which could be character-ized as a genocide of a certain kind....The analysis of these social processes enable us to observe the con-struction of a political myth which, through the changes of memory and identity, eventually becomes a resonator of new relations in memory, identity and global power. This work also contributes to future research of similar social phe-nomenon thanks to the author’s interdisciplinary approach and applied methodology.
