PVDF-HFP/NKBT composite dielectrics: Perovskite particles induce the appearance of an additional dielectric relaxation process in ferroelectric polymer matrix

AB  - Na0.25K0.25Bi0.5TiO3 (NKBT) perovskite particles are synthesized by solid-state method and used as a filler for polyvinylidene fluoride-co-hexafluoropropylene (PVDF-HFP) co-polymer. X-ray diffraction analysis of NKBT powders shows that the particles have a rhombohedral perovskite crystal structure (R3c symmetry). Raman spectroscopy reveals that the co-polymer crystallizes predominantly into the mixture of polar β- and γ-crystals, while there is also a contribution of the non-polar α-crystal phase. The introduction of the NKBT into the PVDF-HFP results with an increase in effective dielectric permittivity and this effect depends on the inorganic content in the composite. The most interesting result of the present study is that the introduction of NKBT particles induces the appearance of an additional transition peak in the dielectric spectra of the co-polymer matrix. At the fixed frequency of ~2 kHz, the observed process appears at ~10 °C (about 45° above the glass transition temperature) and its magnitude strongly depends on the amount of the NKBT in the composite. Dielectric spectroscopy measurements of the composites are carried out in the wide range of frequencies (from 0.1 Hz to 1 MHz) and temperatures (from −100 to 100 °C). They reveal that the novel process can be clearly distinguished in the frequency range between 160 Hz and ~50 kHz.

The existence of phase mixture CuO + Cu3Mo2O9 and MoO3 + CuMoO4 in CuO-rich and MoO3 -rich composition region, respectively, were evidenced. The constant heating rate thermogravimetry in hydrogen atmosphere revealed that the reduction reactions proceed within the two clearly separated temperature regions. On the basis of mass changes, the mechanism of reduction processes was discussed. The measurements revealed considerable inhibition of CuO reduction by MoO3, and huge acceleration of MoO3 → MoO2 reduction step by copper. The particularities found in this system were commented in relation to our similar studies in NiO-MoO3 and CuO-WO3 systems. For particular composition, x = 0.5, existing preferably in form of a-CuMoO4, kinetic parameters of reduction were determined. The composition of oxide mixture influenced the particle size and morphology of resulting metallic Cu-Mo composites.

Thermodynamic and kinetics investigation of elemental evaporation from molten Al7Si4Cu alloy

AB  - Treatment of liquid aluminum alloys in low vacuum conditions is often applied for parts production in the automotive and aerospace industry because of its effectiveness in removing dissolved gases. Because of the low vapour pressure of aluminum, concentrations of the most unwanted elements can be significantly reduced at lower pressures. Presented work analyzing kinetics parameters for elemental evaporation from liquid Al7Si4Cu alloy. The pressure inside mullite refractory material was below 2.1 kPa for melt temperatures between 760 and 910 °C. The alloy’s chemical composition was characterized by the Inductively Coupled Plasma Mass Spectrometry method. Lead, Zinc, and Mercury were reduced at the highest rate while the lowest evaporation occurred for key alloying elements such as Silicon and Copper. Higher evaporation rates were achieved at higher temperatures. The evaporation ratios, volatility coefficients, reaction rate constants, mass transfer coefficients, and elemental evaporation susceptibility on temperature increase were deduced for 16 elements. The obtained results confirmed that keeping molten aluminum alloys in low vacuum conditions for one hour is an efficient method in removing unwanted elements with great potential for further improvement in industrial conditions.

AB  - To investigate the magnetic behavior of starch-coated cobalt ferrites, well-established synthetic methods, i.e., coprecipitation, mechanochemical, ultrasonically assisted coprecipitation, microemulsion, and microwave-assisted hydrothermal syntheses were chosen for their preparation. The obtained materials had pure single-phase spinel structures. Scanning and transmission electron microscopy analyses revealed that the morphology of the samples is not uniform, and particle aggregation is a dominant process. Fourier transform infrared spectra and thermogravimetric analysis confirmed the presence of starch in all–coated samples. The unusually higher saturation magnetization of starch-coated samples than their as-prepared analogs, obtained by coprecipitation, ultrasonically assisted coprecipitation, and microwave-assisted hydrothermal methods, might be explained by the Ostwald ripening mechanism induced by the coating process. A decrease in magnetization was noticed for the starch-functionalized nanomaterials synthesized by mechanochemical and microemulsion methods, in comparison to their as-prepared analogs, i.e., the size distribution of such nanoparticles is narrow, and the average diameter of the grains is near critical for the Ostwald ripening process.

AB  - To investigate the magnetic behavior of starch-coated cobalt ferrites, well-established synthetic methods, i.e., coprecipitation, mechanochemical, ultrasonically assisted coprecipitation, microemulsion, and microwave-assisted hydrothermal syntheses were chosen for their preparation. The obtained materials had pure single-phase spinel structures. Scanning and transmission electron microscopy analyses revealed that the morphology of the samples is not uniform, and particle aggregation is a dominant process. Fourier transform infrared spectra and thermogravimetric analysis confirmed the presence of starch in all–coated samples. The unusually higher saturation magnetization of starch-coated samples than their as-prepared analogs, obtained by coprecipitation, ultrasonically assisted coprecipitation, and microwave-assisted hydrothermal methods, might be explained by the Ostwald ripening mechanism induced by the coating process. A decrease in magnetization was noticed for the starch-functionalized nanomaterials synthesized by mechanochemical and microemulsion methods, in comparison to their as-prepared analogs, i.e., the size distribution of such nanoparticles is narrow, and the average diameter of the grains is near critical for the Ostwald ripening process.

AB  - In this paper we assessed changes in scaling properties of the river Danube level and flow data, associated with building of Djerdap/Iron Gates hydrological power plants positioned on the border of Romania and Serbia. We used detrended fluctuation analysis (DFA), wavelet transform spectral analysis (WTS) and wavelet modulus maxima method (WTMM) to investigate time series of measurements from hydrological stations in the vicinity of dams and in the area of up to 480 km upstream from dams, and time series of simulated NOAA-CIRES 20th Century Global Reanalysis precipitation data for the Djerdap/Iron Gates region. By comparing river dynamics during the periods before and after construction of dams, we were able to register changes in scaling that are different for recordings from upstream and from downstream (from dams) areas. We found that damming caused appearance of human-made or enhancement of natural cycles in the small time scales region, which largely influenced the change in temporal scaling in downstream recording stations. We additionally found disappearance or decline in the amplitude of large-time-scale cycles as a result of damming, which changed the dynamics of upstream data. The most prominent finding of our paper is a demonstration of a complete or partial loss of annual cycles in the upstream stations’ data that stems from the operation of the artificial water reservoir and extends as far as 220 km from dams. We discussed probable sources of such found changes in scaling, aiming to provide explanations that could be of use in future environmental assessments.

Argon/dust and pure argon pulsed plasmas explored using a spatially-averaged model

AB  - The properties (densities of electrons and metastable argon atoms, effective electron temperature and dust charge) of argon/dust and pure argon pulsed plasmas are studied using a spatially-averaged model. The calculated time-dependencies for the densities of electrons and metastable atoms are compared with the experimental measurements and are found to be in a good qualitative agreement. It is analyzed how the plasma properties depend on the shape of the electron energy probability function (EEPF), the pulsing frequency and the duty cycle for both dust-free and dusty plasma. The analysis reveals that the agreement between theory and experiment is better with Druyvesteyn EEPF than the Maxwellian EEPF. Further, the variation in the pulsing frequency νp differently affects the metastable density nm in a dust-free and in a dusty plasma. For large νp, the metastable density in the dust-free pulsed plasma is larger than in the continuous-wave (CW) discharge, while the opposite is obtained in the presence of dust particles. This difference probably arises because of faster variation in the effective electron temperature in the dusty plasma due to collection of electrons by dust particles. Our calculations also show that dust particles may affect the behavior of electron density in the beginning of the on-period due to an enhancement in electron collection by dust particles.

Slavenskog (1896. –1955.). Konkretno, reč je o kolekciji od tridesetak masovnih
pesama koje se nalaze u kompozitorovoj rukopisnoj zaostavštini, a koja je na
čuvanju u Biblioteci Fakulteta muzičke umetnosti u Beogradu. Odlučili smo se
za ovaj izbor dela ne samo zato što smatramo da su Slavenskova dela nastala
nakon Drugog svetskog rata (dakle nakon kompozitorovog stvaralačkog vrhunca
dostignutog tokom tridesetih godina XX veka) manje poznata, već i da je u
određenoj meri kompozitorov društveni angažman u tom periodu relativno
nepoznat; razmotrićemo ga kroz nekoliko teza o kulturnoj memoriji.
AB  - In 2016 and 2017 the Serbian Musicological Society published two volumes of
collected choirs by Josip Slavenski (1896–1955). The first volume contains mixed
choirs, with the second containing children, female and male choirs. Although
the idea was to publish collected choirs, a significant number of mass songs
(excluding Partisans’ Folk Songs for mixed choir a cappella) were excluded. In
the composer’s manuscript legacy, which is to be found, since 1998, at the Faculty
of Music library in Belgrade, there is a collection of mass songs, circa 30, some
of which were published separately in the early years after World War II. One
of the reasons to exclude them from the aforementioned volumes would be the
somewhat ad hoc ensembles required to perform them (choir – male, female or
mixed, orchestra or piano, if available), although that cannot be considered to be
a valid excuse, bearing in mind that several choirs involved in the two published
volumes have overcome similar problems (noted as NB, in both manuscripts
and published volumes). Therefore, in this paper we summarise the composer’s
written legacy, considering the mass song collection through the prism of Jan
Assman’s theory of cultural heritage. This German Egyptologist argued that
there were four versions of the “outer dimensions of memory”: namely mimetic
memory, object memory, communicative memory and cultural memory (Assman
2005: 22-24), whereas cultural memory, as a memory distanced from everyday
life, has these characteristics: connection of identity, capacity to reconstruct,
formation, organization, obligation and reflexivity (Assman 1995: 129-132).
These categories are regarded as key to constructing cultural memory and have
been used to indicate the potential value of several almost unknown works by
Josip Slavenski. Although we do not expect a fundamental re-evaluation of the
composer’s opus through this overview of these mass songs (a genre whose
authors remain mostly anonymous), we would like to point to their place in the
complete opus, but also to the means of discovering elements of the social context
and cultural politics of that time, and, maybe, some of the composer’s personal
ideological beliefs and contributions to the construction of cultural memory.

AB  - Gradeći svoju ideju na temeljima stanovišta Nikolasa Kuka (Nicholas Cook) da muziku treba posmatrati kroz prizmu izvođenja, i Ričarda Leperta (Richard Leppert) da »o čemu god da se radi u muzici, u njoj se radi o telu«, u ovom tekstu se bavim pitanjem glasa i tela u muzikologiji. Kako smatra Kuk, muzikologija je kao disciplina od samih početaka fokusirana na muzički tekst, a zbog te »navike« nije sasvim sposobna niti opremljena da se posveti muzici kao izvođenju.
Međutim, u poslednjih nekoliko decenija, muzikologija je počela da se otvara prema studijama izvođenja, čime je pokrenula lavinu pitanja koja podrivaju i kritički promišljaju tradicionalne ustanovljene dihotomije kao što su um–telo, misao–glas, filozofija–muzika, muškarac–žena, tekst–izvođenje, kompozitor–izvođačica. U skladu sa novim tendencijama, ovaj tekst će ponuditi pogled na istoriju glasa i tela u muzikologiji zapadnog sveta, sa posebnim osvrtom na muzikološke doprinose koji nastaju u poslednjim decenijama – studije Ričarda Leperta (1993), Hane Bozme (Hannah Bosma) (2013), Nikolasa Kuka (2013) i Jelene Novak (2015). Navedeni autori/autorke za centralni zadatak svojih razmatranja postavljaju kritičku (re)interpretaciju pozicije i reprezentacije tela i glasa u muzici zapadnog sveta, a njihovi naučni doprinosi ukazuju na pravce kojim je muzikologija krenula.
AB  - Building upon Nicholas Cook’s standpoint that music should be viewed through the prism of performance, as well as on Richard Leppert’s viewpoint that “whatever else music is about, it is inevitably about the body”, in this text I address questions of voice and body in music and musicology. As Cook writes, musicology had been established as a discipline that is focused on the musical text, and it is because of that “habit of thought” that musicology is not completely
capable of or equipped to engage fully with music as performance. However, in the last few decades, the discipline has started to open itself to performance studies, posing a number of questions that undermine and critically examine traditional dichotomies such as mind–body, thought–voice, philosophy–music, man–woman, text–performance, composer–performer. In line with these new tendencies in the science of music, this text will offer a view on the history of
voice and body musicology in the Western world, with particular attention given to musicological contributions which have emerged in recent decades. These include studies written by Richard Leppert (The Sight of Sound, 1993), Hannah Bosma (The Electronic Cry: Voice and Gender in Electroacoustic Music, 2013), Nicholas Cook (Beyond the Score: Music as Performance, 2013), and Jelena Novak (Postopera: Reinventing the Voice-Body, 2015). abstract = "Gradeći svoju ideju na temeljima stanovišta Nikolasa Kuka (Nicholas Cook) da muziku treba posmatrati kroz prizmu izvođenja, i Ričarda Leperta (Richard Leppert) da »o čemu god da se radi u muzici, u njoj se radi o telu«, u ovom tekstu se bavim pitanjem glasa i tela u muzikologiji. Kako smatra Kuk, muzikologija je kao disciplina od samih početaka fokusirana na muzički tekst, a zbog te »navike« nije sasvim sposobna niti opremljena da se posveti muzici kao izvođenju.
Međutim, u poslednjih nekoliko decenija, muzikologija je počela da se otvara prema studijama izvođenja, čime je pokrenula lavinu pitanja koja podrivaju i kritički promišljaju tradicionalne ustanovljene dihotomije kao što su um–telo, misao–glas, filozofija–muzika, muškarac–žena, tekst–izvođenje, kompozitor–izvođačica. U skladu sa novim tendencijama, ovaj tekst će ponuditi pogled na istoriju glasa i tela u muzikologiji zapadnog sveta, sa posebnim osvrtom na muzikološke doprinose koji nastaju u poslednjim decenijama – studije Ričarda Leperta (1993), Hane Bozme (Hannah Bosma) (2013), Nikolasa Kuka (2013) i Jelene Novak (2015). Navedeni autori/autorke za centralni zadatak svojih razmatranja postavljaju kritičku (re)interpretaciju pozicije i reprezentacije tela i glasa u muzici zapadnog sveta, a njihovi naučni doprinosi ukazuju na pravce kojim je muzikologija krenula., Building upon Nicholas Cook’s standpoint that music should be viewed through the prism of performance, as well as on Richard Leppert’s viewpoint that “whatever else music is about, it is inevitably about the body”, in this text I address questions of voice and body in music and musicology. As Cook writes, musicology had been established as a discipline that is focused on the musical text, and it is because of that “habit of thought” that musicology is not completely
capable of or equipped to engage fully with music as performance. However, in the last few decades, the discipline has started to open itself to performance studies, posing a number of questions that undermine and critically examine traditional dichotomies such as mind–body, thought–voice, philosophy–music, man–woman, text–performance, composer–performer. In line with these new tendencies in the science of music, this text will offer a view on the history of
voice and body musicology in the Western world, with particular attention given to musicological contributions which have emerged in recent decades. These include studies written by Richard Leppert (The Sight of Sound, 1993), Hannah Bosma (The Electronic Cry: Voice and Gender in Electroacoustic Music, 2013), Nicholas Cook (Beyond the Score: Music as Performance, 2013), and Jelena Novak (Postopera: Reinventing the Voice-Body, 2015). AB  - У фокусу интересовања овог истраживања налази се Друштво „Мојсије Петровић“ из Београда, које се бави проучавањем и извођењем традиционалне народне и црквене музике нашег поднебља. Рад је настао на основу дугогодишњих теренских истраживања, методом посматрања са учешћем, слободних разговора и интервјуа. У раду се анализира делатност и репертоар Друштва и његов допринос интерпретацији како српске, тако и шире музичке баштине Балкана. Поред тога, разматра се једна од активности Друштва, а то је музичко оживљавање коледарских песама којима су заборављене мелодије.
AB  - „Mojsije Petrović“ Association from Belgrade is in the focus of interest of this research, which deals with studying and performing of traditional folk and church music of our parts. The work is based on the field research realized over the course of several years, by the method of observation with participation, free conversations and interviews. The activities and the repertoire of the Association is analyzed here and its contribution to the interpretation of both Serbian and wider music inheritance of the Balkans. Apart from that, one of the activities of the Association is viewed here, the one which implies the music „revivification“ of the coledar songs whose melodies have been forgotten.

Folk Art in Contemporary Worship Context: The Role of God Worshippers Prayer Songs With the Serbs Today

AB  - This paper’s focus of interest lies with the songs created by the Worhippers movement (in Serbian: Bogomoljački pokret) which started in Serbia under the influence of St Bishop Nikolai Velimirovich between the two world wars. He is the author of most lines of these songs. However, many anonymous song writers were also the authors. These songs are characterized by simple melodies by unknown authors, mostly from the church and Serbian traditional folk music. Originally, these songs were not performed in the liturgical context, but usually at folk fairs, home gatherings etc. Over the years, they have become very popular transforming their role into the communion liturgy songs. In this paper we will deal with the issues related to their role in the contemporary worship practice in Serbia.
AB  - У фокусу интересовања овог рада налазе се песме које је изнедрио Богомољачки покрет настао у Србији под духовним вођством Св. Владике Николаја Велимировића у периоду између два светска рата. Он је аутор великог броја текстова ових песама. Међутим, аутори су и многи анонимни песници. За ове песме карактеристичне су једноставне мелодије, непознатих аутора, а претежно пореклом из црквене и српске традиционалне народне музике. Изворно ове песме су извођене у ванлитургијском контексту, на народним саборима, кућним окупљањима и сл. Током времена су постале веома омиљене, трансформишући своју улогу у причасне литургијске песме. У овом раду бавићемо се питањима у вези са њиховом улогом у савременој богослужбеној пракси у Србији.

AB  - Το άρθρο μελετά τη συμβολική παρουσία του φυτικού κόσμου στα σερβικά δημοτικά τραγούδια, με ιδιαίτερη έμφαση στη συλλογή της λυρικής λαϊκής ποίησης του Βουκ Στεφάνοβιτς Κάρατζιτς. Στα τραγούδια αυτά διάφορα είδη δέντρων, θάμνων, βοτάνων, λουλουδιών και καρπών, καθώς και τα χαρακτηριστικά τους, όπως το χρώμα, η οσμή, οι φαρμακευτικές ιδιότητες κ.λπ., χρησιμοποιούνται για να περιγράψουν συμβολικά το αγαπημένο πρόσωπο και τα συναισθήματά του. Ο συμβολισμός των φυτών εξετάζεται υπό το πρίσμα των σχετικών σερβικών λαϊκών δοξασιών.
AB  - У фокусу интересовања овог рада налази се симболично присуство биљног света у српским љубавним народним песмама, са посебним фокусом на збирку лирске народне поезије Вука Караџића. У овим песмама различите врсте биља и њихови атрибути, као што су боја, мирис, лековита својства, користе се да на симболичан начин опишу осећања, као и изглед вољене особе. У овом раду се симболика биља посматра кроз призму српских народних веровања о биљу.

AB  - У раду се описује фонолошки систем северношарпланинске жупе Сиринић. Разматрају се акценат и његова дистрибуција, вокалски систем и поједине појаве у вези са њим: очуван полугласник, актуелно стање замене јата на лексичком нивоу, регионалне неуобичајености у рефлексу назала задњег реда, особености вокалног р и појава неслоговоног у. Затим, описује се консонантизам са посебним освртом на вредности појединих фонема на алофонском и фонолошком нивоу, као и две појаве овог подсистема: антиципацијска палаталност и депалатализација. Описи и закључци дати су у највећој мери са ослонцем на досадашње објављене радове о појединостима испитиваног фонолошког система са тежњом да се дати подаци истовремено илуструју примерима из наше грађе новијег датума, као и да се стање дато на основу нешто старијег материјала упореди са актуелним.

AB  - У раду је анализиран медијски и политички аспект дешавања у Социјалистичкој Аутономној Покрајини Војводини 1988. године, која су у јавном дискурсу остала упамћена под називом „Антибирократска револуција“. У уводном делу рада дат је општи преглед спора на релацији република–аутономне покрајине, који је био узрок догађаја из 1988. године. Други део рада бави се масовним демонстрацијама против војвођанског режима, уз посебан осврт на улогу медија у ширењу протеста. Анализирано је понашање војвођанског руководства у датим околностима, односно његова реакција на уличне протесте широм покрајине.

AB  - Eco-friendly and rapid microwave processing of a precipitate was used to produce Fe-doped zinc oxide (Zn1−xFexO, x = 0, 0.05, 0.1, 0.15 and 0.20; ZnO:Fe) nanoparticles, which were tested as catalysts toward the oxygen reduction reaction (ORR) and oxygen evolution reaction (OER) in a moderately alkaline solution. The phase composition, crystal structure, morphology, textural properties, surface chemistry, optical properties and band structure were examined to comprehend the influence of Zn2+ partial substitution with Fe3+ on the catalytic activity of ZnO:Fe. Linear sweep voltammetry showed an improved catalytic activity of ZnO:5Fe toward the ORR, compared to pure ZnO, while with increased amounts of the Fe-dopant the activity decreased. The improvement was suggested by a more positive onset potential (0.394 V vs. RHE), current density (0.231 mA cm−2 at 0.150 V vs. RHE), and faster kinetics (Tafel slope, b = 248 mV dec−1), and it may be due to the synergistic effect of (1) a sufficient amount of surface oxygen vacancies, and (2) a certain amount of plate-like particles composed of crystallites with well developed (0001) and (000) facets. Quite the contrary, the OER study showed that the introduction of Fe3+ ions into the ZnO crystal structure resulted in enhanced catalytic activity of all ZnO:Fe samples, compared to pure ZnO, probably due to the modified binding energy and an optimized band structure. With the maximal current density of 1.066 mA cm−2 at 2.216 V vs. RHE, an onset potential of 1.856 V vs. RHE, and the smallest potential difference between the OER and ORR (ΔE = 1.58 V), ZnO:10Fe may be considered a promising bifunctional catalyst toward the OER/ORR in moderately alkaline solution. This study demonstrates that the electrocatalytic activity of ZnO:Fe strongly depends on the defect chemistry and consequently the band structure. Along with providing fundamental insight into the electrocatalytic activity of ZnO:Fe, the study also indicates an optimal stoichiometry for enhanced bifunctional activity toward the OER/ORR, compared to pure ZnO.

The NaxMnO2 materials prepared by a glycine-nitrate method as advanced cathode materials for aqueous sodium-ion rechargeable batteries

AB  - Cathodic material for sodium-ion rechargeable batteries based on NaxMnO2 were synthesized by glycine nitrate method and subsequent annealing at high temperatures. Different crystal structures with different morphologies were obtained depending on the annealing temperature: hexagonal layeredα-Na0.7MnO2.05 nanoplates were obtained at 850 °C, while 3-D tunnel structured Na0·4MnO2 and Na0·44MnO2, both with rod-like morphology, were obtained at 800 °C and 900 °C, respectively. The investigations of the electrochemical behavior of obtained cathodic materials in aqueous NaNO3 solution have shown that Na0·44MnO2 obtained at 900 °C has shown the best battery performance. Its initial discharge capacities are 123.5 mA h/g, 113.2 mA h/g, and 102.0 mA h/g at the high current densities of 1000, 2000 and 5000 mA/g, respectively.
